For Clinton, climate change is no laughing matter.
Bill Clinton was in town yesterday delivering a speech at the University of Minnesota, and during one notable passage he put Mitt Romney on blast for laughing about climate change during his RNC speech.

Romney's climate change skepticism looks especially bad in the wake of the unprecedented destruction wrought along the Atlantic Seaboard by Hurricane Sandy, which as of yesterday had killed at least 32 people while doing more than $20 billion in damage.

But Romney scoffs at the notion that elected officials are capable of doing anything about storms of Sandy's sort, as evidenced by this transcription and clip of the relevant part of his RNC speech:
President Obama promised to begin to slow the rise of the oceans. [Extended laughter] And to heal the planet. My promise is to help you and your family.

During his speech yesterday, Clinton pointed out that climate change is clearly more than a theoretical issue at this point -- it's already impacting public policy, especially on the East Coast.
[Romney] ridiculed the president for his efforts to fight global warming in economically beneficial ways. He said, 'Oh, you're going to turn back the seas.' In my part of America we would like it if someone could've done that yesterday.

All up and down the East Coast, there are mayors, many of them Republicans, who are being told, 'You gotta move these houses back away from the ocean, you gotta lift them up, climate change is going to raise the water levels on a permanent basis. If you want your town insured, you have to do this.'

In the real world, Barack Obama's policies work better.

The Wall Street Journal writes that Clinton's late-in-the-game Minneapolis appearance "signaled concern in the Obama camp that the president faces a rockier road here then he did four years ago when he won by ten points." Indeed, a Mason-Dixon poll released Saturday showed Obama with just a three-point advantage over Romney, but New York Times election analyst Nate Silver, drawing from the Mason-Dixon poll but also from a number of other recent surveys, still projects Obama to carry the Land of 10,000 Lakes by just under seven points.

Man made global warming: looking for and finding no evidence of since 1972

I guess he's forgetting what the guy who got him elected said. "It's the economy stupid!"

Whoops
Whoops

Sandy hasn't just killed scores of people, it just killed Romney's chances at being elected.

@CinBlueland You shouldn't be commenting since you are so often wrong in your analysis.  You are so easily tricked you fell for that asshole in Wisconsin's story.  Remember how I called that as fake right away cause I'm smart and you fell for his story cause you are dumb?   Still not adult enough to admit you were wrong and apologize for the hate you spewed against Dems huh?    Dumb fools like you are why Obama will easily win relection Tuesday.   When you going to apologize for being an idiot?   Shouldn't you have to shup up for a month or so since you were so wrong?   ha ha ha ha.  I love that I'm factually smarter than you.  In a battle of wits you were W. Bush and I was Obama.  Now you know why you vote for idiots, idiot.  I love how easy it is to prove Republicans are stupid.

@MicheleBachmann MB, my apologies, thought that I had. I was wrong.

You and I both know that nuts on both sides come out during election season.

Unfortunately CP pretty much just focuses on the conservative nuts (See today's other headline). Technically she is aligned to the right, but I would not back her sentiments regarding Obama's race.

and what exactly does this economy have to do with Obama? What could he have done differently....with the crap Congress he's had since 2010? And what exactly do you think Romney's gonna do for you? He hasn't done anything for anybody other than make money for himself....didn't do anything in MA, his Romneycare was signed by him but was drafted after years of work by Senator Ted Kennedy, he denounces it now, left his state #47 in the country for job creation, and was pro-choice.....how do you reconcile that with the guy you're voting for now....or are you hoping he applies his Bainesque vulture capitalism techniques to improve our economy? For reference, notice how well that worked during Bush's administration....Wall Street (we bailed them out, in case you forgot). So tell us, oh wise one, how will Romney and Ryan make things better? More war/increased military budget, more debt/increased tax breaks for the already wealthy, fewer regulations on Wall Street, fossil fuel free-for-all as in Tar Sands pipeline for the few temporary jobs that will give us while the oil companies continue to plunder our landscape and rake in huge profits, lobby money lining all their pockets from corporations that will continue running the show, slashed and burned Medicare, Social Security, and Medicaid.....because they take too much money out of our coffers....even though that's what the money is paid in for. Tell me, how is this a better more secure future for you? Jobs continue going to China, like the Bain model. AND, both of those guys have made money off of taxpayers....ask yourself, Romney's worth $250 million, why would he want the job? For more perks, or for his ego. And watch the revolution unfold when Tea Party conservative Ryan and his minions start legislating women's health care. You ain't seen nothing yet!

difference is....Bill Maher (only one you named with a TV show on HBO) deals in facts, Limbaugh makes shit up to suit his argument....huge difference, although it's easy to see how people without the facts/knowledge/research prefer Limbaugh's tirade....it's easier than putting in the time to find things out for yourself.

@CinBlueland  @MicheleBachmann lol i love that thank you cinblueland. But ignore all the libs they are just finally starting to see that obama is going to lose because everyone is starting to wake up and see that hes in way over his head and everything he has promised he didnt do. Except for the die hard obama supporter which think we are in a amazing economy and america has never been better.

@MicheleBachmann Nice one: "There are no liberal Rush Limbaughs or Michele Bachmanns."

Please look up Bill Maher, Randi Rhodes, Maxine Waters, KKK Byrd, Janeane Garofalo, shall I continue?

@CinBlueland They cover the left wing crazies too.  There are way more right wing crazies because racism and stupidity runs wild in the Republican party.  This is the type of person that Fox News attracts and creates.  You are a troll that deals in racism.  You are part of the problem.  If Republicans want to get better they need to grow up and kick out the racists and fact deniers.  No one in the party has the courage to do that, they encourage it.  There are no liberal Rush Limbaughs or Michele Bachmanns.  Your entire party is that.
