Andy Parrish says he has "no intention of abiding" by Obama's proposed gun restrictions

Don't let the cigar fool you -- Parrish makes for an unlikely armed revolutionary.
Just over a month after the Newtown school shooting, President Obama today revealed his ambitious gun control proposal.

But a day before the president announced what some are calling the "most expansive gun-control agenda in generations," Andy Parrish -- former deputy campaign manager for Minnesota for Marriage, former chief of staff for Michele Bachmann, and the current head of a conservative political action committee named A Stronger Minnesota -- said he has no intention of "abiding by gun laws that further restrict my rights."

First, here's some of the details about Obama's gun control proposal. From BBC News:
[Obama] urged Congress:
-- to reintroduce an expired ban on "military-style" assault weapons, such as those used in several recent mass shootings
-- impose limits on ammunition magazines to 10 rounds
-- introduce background checks on all gun sales; currently private sales and some sales at gun shows, constituting about 40% of the national total, are exempt
-- pass a ban on possession and sale of armour-piercing bullets
-- introduce harsher penalties for gun-traffickers, especially unlicensed dealers who buy arms for criminals
-- finally approve the appointment of the head of the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives
Mr Obama also signed 23 unilateral orders, including an end to a ban on gun-violence research by a prominent federal agency, as well as a measure promoting responsible gun ownership.

He acknowledged his legislative push would encounter stiff opposition in Congress. "This will be difficult," he said.

"There will be pundits and politicians and special interest lobbyists publicly warning of a tyrannical all-out assault on liberty, not because that's true, but because they want to gin up fear or higher ratings or revenue for themselves.
As news Obama was about to go public with his awaited gun control proposal circulated yesterday, Parrish -- who last month proposing arming teachers as a way to stop school shootings before they start -- offered up this tweet: Parrish didn't reply do a reply asking him "What specifically is your intent with that?" so how exactly he intends to resist Obama's desired gun crackdown remains to be seen. But we can say this much: The thought of Parrish -- a clean cut, proud family man -- grabbing his AR-15, taking to the woods, and trying to lead some sort of Che-style armed insurrection is certainly juicy fodder for the imagination.

Given his record so far as a GOP campaign pro, I'm thinking no one has told him there's more to it than trying to be provocative on social media.

Someone should remind Parrish that *voting* is a Constitutional right, too.

I seem to recall a lot of conservatives telling us that jumping through hoops to exercise our Constitutional right to vote was pretty cool and made us all appreciate our freedoms even more. Oddly, Parrish has done a complete 180 and now will not stand for any restrictions on his rights.

Hey Andy Parrish, no one cares. Who are you by the way?

Am I the only one who thinks that it's disrespectful to refer to the President as "Mr. Obama"?

So concerned about his rights yet so hell bent on keeping them from others.  What a tool.  Take one your guns Andy, put it to your temple, then pull the trigger.

@Southsider No wrong bad.

Someone should explain to dandy Andy he doesn't get a choice. Is he still carrying around Michele Bachmann's purse, btw?  That might be keeping him so busy he doesn't have a hand free for a death grip on his guns.

@Southsider I agree with the first two sentences. Not the last. Mockery is plenty. Let's please not wish harm on anyone.

@digitalprotocol  Does anyone CARE what silly Andy does? NO? I didn't think so. Loser Andy probably can't get arrested even if he tries. Boring........

um, there's nothing for him to really abide by. Most of the executive order proposals were simply for improving law enforcement and health care information sharing.

Get arrested Andy.  Stand up for your beliefs!   Going to prison as long as possible is the only sensible reaction to Obama's tyranny.   Pretty please go to prison.

I hope Parrish does not meet any untimely end by falling through the hole he drilled to get the roadrunner. Silly asshat.
