for starters the young man is not going to college i know that first hand,he has never planned on going, plus this was all pre planned and approved by team members, because if it wasnt pre planned there would be no video of it, the only video was that of a female friend, there was also a cheering section at that end of the rink for this, and lastly those who opened the gate well he was skating backwards had knowledge of this because the gate is never opened that fast during a game i know so i use to play the game

Seems like he was playing about half the games, about half the minutes and he got the start on Senior Night. Given that it doesn't look like either kid was out hugely out performing the other what's the complaint?

"Krause played 492 minutes in goal this season and had a record of 5-4-1 as the starter. His goals-against average was 2.8 and he stopped 87.7 percent of opponents' shots. @mz55431 when you sit a player on the bench his skills deteriorate, Krause was a highly ranked junior goalie last year by minnesota hockey, plus all the games krause played this year were top 20 ranked teams if the other goalie played in those games they would have been blowouts and the other goalies stats would not be that good, if the coach wanted him to get experience he should have put him in some of these pressure cooker games instead of cream puff games

There are bad coaches for sure. But this kid is so screwed up make a statement about a coach this way. He did this cowardly act to the community of Farmington, his High School, his team and his teammates. Guess who looks like a dick (Krause) and who looks reasonable? (the coach). He says on his Facebook page he wants to be a Marine - good luck - he's the last guy I would want next to me in a Uniform.

@meskitoe President Obama has balls but the current Speaker of the House of Representatives has no balls, and not only that he would rather see our country fiances go over the cliff than see a balanced budget. President Obama would rather see that we have a balanced budget, while the Speaker of the HoR would rather see our economy collapse. This young man deserves some sort of punishment from school. A 10 day suspension sounds a little harsh. He should have a few weeks of detention, but damaging him academically in addition to the damage he's done to himself seems a little over the top to me. Kids do dumb things, he isn't going to realize how much or for how long he's hurt himself for some time. 2 weeks off from school and possibly not graduating on time doesn't make sense.

Maybe this kid was being a selfish crybaby. But you know, he got suspended from school--not the hockey team, SCHOOL--for 2 WEEKS. If you beat the living crap our of a kid, you get suspended for a couple of days. If you videotape a team mate having sex with an underaged girl and put it on the internet, like the hockey team did iin Maple Grove, you only get suspended from the team for a couple of games; maybe no suspension at all from school..

This kid would have gotten a lighter suspension for (Let's look at District Guidelines, shall we): having a weapon at school; a bomb threat; fighting, possession, use or sale of alcohol or drugs at school; bullying; defiance, verbal abuse; harassment; tobacco; vandalism; trespassing; pulling a fire alarm; among other offenses. Yes, he might be recommended for expulsion over the weapon. But the suspension is 5 days.

But if you cause the all-glorious team to lose a game and throw a middle finger at the all-hallowed coach, you get kicked off the team for good and suspended from school for 2 WEEKS.

This kid might be a jerk. But that school has some fucked-up priorities.

You're wrong about the incidents at school. Bring a knife to school and you're out - you're most likely looking for a new school or going through a ton of hoops to get back in. There may be light consequences in rare cases -but with liability the way it is nowadays - schools are usually erring on the side of longer suspensions and expulsions to protect themselves. This kid did this to the community and the school - he THREW a regulation HS game that the school and the community support financially and other in a big way. 10 days is very reasonable.

@wade_1963 10 days is not reasonable.....what if he accidently shot the puck in the wrong net? would that warrant a 10 day suspension for causing your team to lose a game even though you flipped off the coach. sounds a little harsh...I would have made him ineligible for the school prom or to attend the graduation.

What a crybaby little bitch. It was a cowardly move, he threw his team under the bus, and he's a disgrace to the sport. Hockey is bigger than one little kid's problems, and he handled it WRONG. I've played for 20+ years and I'll be the first to say that he will never play again, as any team that finds out who he is will give him the boot.

And judging by the fact that he's a senior and very much ILLITERATE, I can say good riddance. See you at the drive-through when you're super-sizing my fries. Good luck taking that attitude with you when you move out of your parents house and have to report to a boss.

@gregseth619 The kid played all the tough games of the year. Against top teams in the league. Had he gotten half of the other goalies starts they could have had a much better season. Stats don't reflect everything and if you knew hockey well enough you would realize that. You give your senior goalie the starts out of respect and reputation, he was ranked a top goalie in hs hockey last year. It was the last game of his hockey career, I wouldn't call him a cry baby, he knew what he was doing and he did it. That's not being a coward.

I wonder what his take would be if this was a bad boss or family issues......I'm certian you have had these situations Michael and would deal with them as part of life and how he wants to be remembered. In this generation of "what about me only" this guy didn't give a shit about his team mates and everyone else who counted on him. Seriously that asshole made a decision to act like a classless player and doesn't know the meaning of 'team'. THIS is the reason why this generation is pumping out kids with SHITTY attitudes and entitlement. Quit putting sports players on pedestals. And attention PARENTS: teach your kids some RESPECT. This "KID" still has complete control over his own actions. STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR HIM. No wonder society is filled with "ME ME ME ALL ABOUT ME" assholes. It seems DRAMA is the only way people pay attention. So pathetic. He made the choice, he needs to experience the consequences. Good luck in life with an attitude like that....
