Forget maintaining the status quo -- Brown actually wants another crack at a marriage amendment.
You've gotta give folks like Andy Parrish and Brian Brown credit -- they don't give up.

With a marriage equality bill that will likely be approved by the DFL-controlled legislature and signed by Governor Dayton set to be introduced any day now, Brown, the president of the National Organization for Marriage, says his group still plans to push for a same-sex marriage ban like the one that failed last November.

"Clearly, Minnesota needs a constitutional amendment. The reality is that without it, judges could redefine marriage," Brown told MPR. "In Minnesota, unfortunately, the amendment did not pass. But you still need an amendment; we will still push for it."

Regarding the defeat of the marriage amendment, Brown said the anti-amendment campaign "was won simply by telling lies."

"One of the lies was that there was no threat of same-sex marriage -- that's now coming home to roost," he added.

Brown's remarks come one day after he, on behalf of NOM, vowed to "spend $500,000 against any Republican legislator who votes in favor of redefining marriage in Minnesota, and will support any Democrat who votes to preserve marriage."

Money can't buy the political instincts needed to know when a particular fight has been lost, apparently.

Let their misguided anger destroy themselves. Gay people have always been and will always be a part of our society.

I can't comment on their FB page anymore because I had the temerity to say that equality is for everyone.
