This whole issue has nothing to do with racism. It has to do with white Republicans who want to instigate a race war. The Somalis and African Americans lived together in peace until Mitt Romney came along and declared Class Warfare. He lied and told the American public that the 47% are welfare moochers and most of them were black. We all know that most people on Welfare are white people. FACT. I am so sick of racist Republicans who think that black people and other minorities are the problem in this country. The problem in this country are evil greedy white people. I applied at Target tonight for a job in their deli. You know what they offered? $10.50/hr. I told them that I have 3 kids to support and that their father is in jail and cannot pay child support, so I told them that I need at least $20/hr. They basically laughed at me and said, "the maximum we can offer is $7.50/hr." How the hell can I support 3 kids and another on the way on $7.50/hr? Republican greed is the reason for this. We need to change this.

This situation is all the fault of our Federal Government. It is malfeasance. For years they have allowed both illegal immigraints, and legal immigrants (Somail's - refugees) into the US.

The problem is that there is not enough opportunity (read - good paying jobs) for natural born American citizens, let alone all the other immigrant folks that have been allowed into our country. Their presence has driven down wages for American born people.

As a conserative / libertairian white person, I understand the African American students anger. Right now Amy Klobachar is lobbying to allow more H1-B visas for Indian Engineers and Programmers, even through recent IT/Engineering grads can't get jobs. The BIG Corps want cheap labor.

The US is destroying it's self from the inside out!

Right now - and maybe for the next 20 years, we don't need anymore immigrants. We need to stabilze the citizen's situation now.

Unemployment is at an all-time low, Obama saved the auto industry, Obama will increase the minimum wage, which will stimulate growth and taxes. Are you that stupid? Nancy Pelosi correctly stated that we do not have a spending problem. We need to spend more and tax more to correct the deficit. Let me guess. This is what you get when the gubmint is running things. Just think what they will do to health care.

Basically, South High is a toilet, a cesspool, where children are incarerated and indoctrinated. Only the most desperate, uncaring parent would allow their child to be in that enviornment. All you can possibly learn is 'bad behavior'.

@Alirox : well, not really. I think most anthropologists will agree that West African peoples and East African peoples are distinctly seperate classifications for people of the negroid race. Just like Oriental and American peoples are distinctly different among the mongoloid race. Supposedly there used to be a more distinct difference between Northern and Southern Europeans of the caucosoid race, but after much intermingling they became more "muttish".

For those just stepping in, MB is not the real Michelle Bachmann, just a hyper extreme leftist with a serious case of white guilt. HE is kind of fun to watch as long as you know he's the hyper extreme of the left/dem party. Keny may be the other side or just someone who posts to set MB off

BTW in full disclosure I'm a racist I disagreed with what MB said and "liked" a couple of Keny's posts.

It's really sad that after all the civil rights movements we are still trapped in a Repetitive pattern of racial hate. And instead of working on correcting to problems most are too busy blaming someone else for the problem.

It's just kids blowing off some steam......like they've been doing for decades. Talk to the "old timers" in the neighborhood about the "Baldys" and "Greasers" from back in the day. Since all these old folks were white and fighting each other that negates any type of "racial thang" with this.

@MicheleBachmann I hope that you are the real Michele Bachmann. If indeed you are, unless you have something constructive to say about the situation at hand (I.e. the racial tensions within South HS, and the MPLS School District at large,) then please go back to the congressional district in which you represent and continue to practice your form of "politics" there.

It is ridiculous that you can read a story of this nature and then try to make it about you. It's not about you, the racist comments in the city pages, or the fact that you feel "threatened" by an internet presence. This isn't the first time you've been threatened on the internet, and it probably won't be the last (judging by your ludicrous policies and your voting history.)

But I know one thing is for sure; presenting commentary on problems you know nothing about isn't helping the number of threats (or votes) you'll be getting in the future.

Let's talk about how to fix this problem, or at least make it better. Not pick fights with eBullies.

It's amazing watching the racism and racial concern trolling being projected onto this issue. This is my son's school and his older siblings attended as well, it has been an extremely safe and tolerant school. I suspect that this was less about systemic racial tensions and more about the fact that, according to my son, food fights are a regular lunchtime occurrence and have been tolerated at the school for way too long.
