Poll: Minnesotans favor path to citizenship for illegal immigrants

In total, 64 percent of poll respondents said they would support the reform, which would also entail beefing up border security; 24 percent came out against the plan and 12 percent were not sure.
That puts Minnesota roughly in line with the rest of the United States, based on similar polls released this year.
In comparison, a recent poll from Quinnipiac University indicated that 56 percent of Americans believe illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the United States and apply for citizenship. A Gallup poll from late January found 72 percent favored a path to citizenship. An AP-GfK poll found more than 6 in 10 Americans support allowing illegal immigrants to eventually become citizens.
