Carolyn Moos, Jason Collins's ex-fiancée, is from Mpls, says she never suspected he's gay
|Collins apparently faked being straight rather effectively during his relationship with Moos.|
"When I was younger I dated women," Collins writes. "I even got engaged. I thought I had to live a certain way. I thought I needed to marry a woman and raise kids with her. I kept telling myself the sky was red, but I always knew it was blue."

So naturally, in the hours following Collins's big announcement, TMZ caught up with his ex-fiancée, Minneapolis native and Blake School graduate Carolyn Moos.
The 6' 6" Moos was no slouch basketball player herself. As a senior at Blake in 1997, she was a finalist for Naismith National Player of the Year. She went on to star at Stanford and played a few seasons in the WNBA.
Right around the time she graduated from Stanford, she started dating Collins. The two got engaged, but he ended their relationship before they ever got married in 2009.
According to TMZ, Moos never really understood why until last weekend, when Collins came out to her and cited his homosexuality as the reason he called their wedding off. Moos said she never suspected anything. To use TMZ's words, Collins gave her "a bunch of BS reasons" for dumping her.
"It's very emotional for me as a woman to have invested 8 years in my dream to have a husband, soul mate, and best friend in him. So this is all hard to understand," the still-single Moos said, adding that she has no hard feelings.
"I care about [Jason] tremendously and only want the best for him," she said. "I want Jason to be happy for a lifetime and stay true to who he really is, inside and out."
