|If Movoto's study can be believed, Minneapolis is the nerd capital of the Midwest.|

That's well and good, but here's the real question: Is that something to be proud of?
Movoto's analysis pegged Minneapolis as the fifth-nerdiest city out of the 50 largest in the country, behind Atlanta (the nerdiest), Portland, Seattle, and Sacramento (fourth-nerdiest).
Here's the methodology Movoto used:
-- Number of annual comic book, video game, anime, and sci-fi / fantasy conventionsSome of those "nerdy" things are unquestionably cool -- after all, who doesn't love a good comic book -- but proximity to the Ren Fest? We suppose how you feel about that depends on whether you enjoy grotesquely gigantic turkey legs.

If you're curious, the rest of the top 10 (from six onward) is rounded out by Boston, Las Vegas (really?), Miami (really?), San Jose, and Denver.
