Some think it looks suspiciously like a giant vagina. Others think it's just ugly.
In what will go down as one of the most ringing first-take endorsements of the Vikings new stadium design, Greg Jennings called it "serious."

THE BACKSTORY: New Vikings stadium design revealed [IMAGES]

So yeah, in general, folks weren't thrilled to learn that the east end of downtown will soon be occupied by a structure that looks like an invading alien community's space ship.

Here's our list of 10 of the funniest local tweets posted as renderings of the new stadium circulated around the internet.

10. +1 9. And the award for the most clever tweet goes to... 8. What was wrong with the old retractable? 7. Earlier in the evening, Collin described the stadium design as "A 3D Vagina," and after taking a second look... boy, he's either onto something or he's on something. 6. Some looked at the renderings and saw things other than vaginas:

From an architectural/environmental standpoint, here's something to consider:Sure hope that HKS has done a feasibility study on the environmental impact the Big Glass Spaceship will have on downtown Minneapolis and neighboring buildings / businesses. There was a big glass tower that opened in downtown Dallas last summer which has raised the average indoor temp (and related HVAC costs) for neighboring buildings (business buildings, museums, arts venues) by several degrees. Glass may look and appear to be really cool, but it can turn up the heat....

Actually no, well some are, but not all. The typical wining over the tax thing (which I've heard as a broken record since Stadium talks started) has little to do with how it looks though. That crowd would hate how it looked regardless how it looked. And, to put a finer point on it, "I'm" not really a Vikings fan! I still think the new stadium design looks good though...

Are the people you're hearing the opposite from Vikings fans? Maybe you'd feel differently if I forced you to pay extra taxes for my leisure activities.

I have to keep checking who posted it to see if it's the Onion. Could this thing fit any LESS into Minneapolis? Oh how I wish there was a way I didn't have to pay for this.

Meh. From an architectural standpoint, I'm not thrilled, but it's better than just any average stadium...I guess.

Sooooo... happy to pay for this. I'm sure all of the Minneapolis High School Students who are losing their School Busing will think of the Vikings while they enjoy an extended school commute via Metro Transit. Maybe when the dump trucks full of tax revenue come rolling in school children can have their buses back.

Folks aren't thrilled in general? Wa? Despite the fact that I've heard the exact opposite reaction from people, what exactly did these unsatisfied people want? I was a bit nervous myself at first, but I think architecturally it looks awesome. An abstract and cool looking alien spaceship isn't exactly a bad thing. Or are people going to wine about the public library design now too?

Will make it that much more tedious to get from the West Bank to downtown.
