Around 10:30 p.m. on June 8, a 63-year-old man was loading groceries into his vehicle when a man described as middle-aged, black, and about 5'9" and 200 pounds approached with a handgun, the Pioneer Press reports. The suspect got in the car and forced the victim to drive to an ATM and withdraw money. He then took the cash, ran away in the area of Lexington Parkway and Thomas Avenue, and hopped into a vehicle waiting to pick him up.
Then, just after 11 p.m. last night, a 32-year-old woman was pushed into her vehicle in the store's parking lot by a man with a gun. He got in the vehicle and forced her to drive to the TCF Bank near Lexington Parkway and University Avenue and withdraw money. The suspect -- who in this case is described as in his late 20s or early 30s, black, about 5' 11" and 190 pounds, and clean shaven -- took the money and forced the woman to drive him to another location and drop him off, the PiPress reports.
No arrests have yet been made in connection with either incident.
