Bachmann's latest interview demonstrates her grasp of reality is looser than ever [VIDEO]

Bachmann isn't a fan of Obama's imaginary immigration policy.
In an interview with World Nut Net Daily, Michele Bachmann says President Obama should be "spanked" for granting undocumented Latinas the right to vote just in time for last year's election.

There's just one problem with that claim -- Obama did no such thing.

Here, via The New Civil Rights Movement, is a transcript of Bachmann's comments (emphasis ours), followed by the raw video:
"Contrary to popular opinion Republicans won't get patted on the back or get new votes because of passing amnesty. They're going to get blamed. And it's my prediction that the House Republicans could put themselves in a position where they could actually lose the gavel in 2014, because I think the president, even by executive order, can again wave his magic wand before 2014 and he's say, "now all of the new, legal Americans are going to have voting rights.'

"Why do I say that? He did it in 2012. Do you remember? Anyone who was here as a Latina under age 30, he said, 'you get to vote.'

"What? He decides you get to vote? If he did it 2012, know -- take it to the bank -- he'll do in 2014. And then guess what will happen? Democrat in the White House. Democrats controlling the Senate. Democrats controlling the House. At that point they will change election law, and it will be almost impossible to ever see him Republican majority again. Do we get how important this is? I'm not crying wolf here."

"This is working for the president. It's not working for the American people, but it's great by him. He has a perpetual magic wand and nobody's given him a spanking yet taken it out of his hand. That's what Congress needs to do -- give the president a major wake-up call. And the way we spank the president is we do it through the checkbook. We're the ones who say, 'no, you can't have the money.' What's wrong with us?"

Last summer, ABC News did a fact-check about "President Obama's controversial immigration policy." Here's what it had to say about the allegation it would allow illegals to vote (emphasis ours): "This is not a legislative or permanent fix. And it does not provide a path to citizenship, the right to vote, or even permanent legal residency for illegal immigrants."

In other words, Michele Bachmann is making shit up yet again.

Time was, any Bachmann post here would bring 8-10 rabid supporters - both Tea Party adherents and evangelicals - to rail about 'socialism' and condemn commenters to eternal damnation. It would common to go over 100 comments.

Now, the wingnuts don't bother to defend her. If they stop by at all, it's to make insipid claims of bias or false equivalence -- i.e "shoot the messenger". "Why are you covering her?", the conservatives all ask, because she embarrasses them. Is it because the MNGOP nominated her *three times*, and selected her in a primary process as their best representative? Is it because polling showed that MN Republicans really, really wanted Bachmann to run against Klobuchar instead of Bills? is it because, even now, there are substantial numbers of delusional MN Republicans that think Bachmann can win State-wide office?

Really, Republicans do still like her, but they wish that she would keep her mouth shut. Failing that, they wish that no one would cover the stupid things that she says. Failing that, they deflect the issue *away* from her remarks and beliefs and toward the "messenger", so that it's just another case of the mean old media beating up on their defenceless...champion.

And, because so very many Republicans find Bachmann more credible than any fact-checker, she remains relevant. Unfortunately.

Low hangin' fruit. I'm sick of reading about her.

She is crying wolf.

I haven't heard a woman in politics talking about spanking the president this much since Nailin Palin came out.

What a maroon.
