Javier Sanchez, senior aide to Michele Bachmann, arrested for burglary

:::: UPDATE :::: Michele Bachmann's senior legislative assistant allegedly stole cash from Bachmann's office

OK, this is weird, even by Michele Bachmann's standards.

Word is emerging this evening that one of her senior aides, Javier Sanchez, was arrested July 11 in connection with a series of burglaries at the Rayburn House Office Building. He has been charged with Theft II.

From Politico:
Capitol Police were made aware of the thefts "earlier this year" and identified Sanchez after an investigation, said Shennell Antrobus, a spokesman for the department. Sanchez was arrested for theft II -- allegedly stealing less than $1,000 worth of goods.

Sanchez is a 37 year old from Virginia and has apparently already been fired.
Dan Kotman, a spokesman for Bachmann, said "as of 7/12/2013, the person in question is no longer with the office. Any further questions should be directed to Capitol Police."

Is Michele Bachmann paying her senior aide Javier Sanchez so little money that he has to resort to petty theft to make ends meet?
