Two Minneapolis police officers placed on administrative leave

Two Minneapolis police officers have been placed on administrative leave, spokesperson Cyndi Barrington announced on Friday afternoon, and the department is currently conducting an internal investigation.

For now, though, the situation remains a mystery. The department is keeping both the identity of the officers and the activity being probed under wraps.

"Due to the allegations and after thoroughly reviewing the available information, Chief Janee Harteau immediately requested an internal affairs investigation and placed both officers on administrative leave," Barrington explained in a release. "The law does not permit disclosure of the nature of the active internal affairs investigation."
