The University of Minnesota scored an overall 99 percent on the survey.
For the second consecutive year, the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities ranked among the most LGBT-friendly college campuses in the country based on a survey by Campus Pride, a national organization that measures inclusiveness in higher-learning institutions.

The U of M scored 99 percent overall on the survey, which considers factors such as policy inclusion, campus safety, counseling, and more.

"The commitment the U of M shows to LGBT students, faculty, staff and visitors is something we are very proud of," says Vice President for Equity and Diversity Katrice Albert. "Our GLBTA Programs Office is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and continues to be a driving force in creating a respectful environment for all students.

Among other schools that topped the list (in full here): Stanford University, University of Oregon-Eugene, and University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.

Campus Pride spokeswoman Jess McDonald says the organization is in the process of overhauling the survey to include more questions about policies related to transgender people, which could make it harder for colleges to rank so high beginning in 2014.
