Al-Shabaab's latest recruitment video features the stories of three men who traveled from Minneapolis to Somalia for jihad.

All three men left for Somalia in 2007 or 2008 and were dead within two years.

In the video, Troy Kastigar, a Native American who converted to Islam in 2004, tells viewers, "This is the real Disney Land."

"You need to come over here, join us, and take pleasure in this fun," Kastigar adds.

Al-Shabaab is a Somali-based al-Qaeda cell.

The video has since been removed from YouTube, but two journalists with expertise on Somalia watched it and tweeted out details, including stills of the men.

Terrorism comes in lots of labels. Racial, religious, nationality. It needs to be weeded out and stopped. But, I for one, think our government is turning into one of the largest terrorist organizations in the world. I love this country and will never leave, but 1984 seems more like 2014 every single day. If my memory serves me correctly, we generally do not do well in alternative war methods (ie. guerrilla/jungle/dessert warfare) and are currently using fear or paranoia to reduce freedoms.

@k2yeb Only a complete idiot who is completely uninformed about history and our government thinks we are less free today than any other time in the history of the United States.  Read a history book sometime before opening your stupid mouth.  Read about COINTELPRO, Jim Crow, Japanese Internment, Haymarket, or the Ludlow Massacre.   I mean how stupid are you to think we are "turning into one of the largest terrorist organizations in the world?"   Read about Iran/Contra or what we did in Chile in the 1970s or Iran in the 1950s.   You are stupid and poorly informed.    Also its obvious you've never read 1984.   See stupid people who have never read 1984 think the scary thing is the surveillance in that book.  It is no doubt a major theme but it is easily avoided by Winston and Julia.  The scariest thing the government does is called Newspeak.  By changing the language the government actually is attempting to change the way people think.   How can a person know what freedom is if there isn't a word for it?   Since we have this thing called the internet our freedom of expression and thought  is impossible for the government  to repress.  Since the government has done nothing to suppress freedom of expression, thought, or speech for the average person you sound childish comparing America to 1984.   Dictators don't spend their time giving civil rights to gay people and passing universal healthcare.  They spend their time murdering their rivals and anyone who dares to say a bad thing about them.  Since Obama has been insulted more than any other President in the history of the United States I'd say we are safe.  Try reading 1984 sometime, its really good.

@MicheleBachmann@k2yebIf it weren't for the name calling and belittling, you guys would be on the same side. I wonder what society would look like if we talked to each-other this way in person irl.

"the government actually is attempting to change the way people think." You are trying to say this doesn't happen?  Lol, to roughly quote you, "look at what our government did in Iran in the 1950's" The CIA admitted it did this to cause revolution. Look at the war on drugs. There's a video called Reefer Madness. Watch it.

"Since the government has done nothing to suppress freedom of expression, thought, or speech for the average person ..." NSA is putting cease and desist orders on people creating content about their actions. Check out Adam Kokesh. There may be a video or two on YT about what happens at Occupy rallies.

Forcing people to buy crappy insurance is a far cry from universal healthcare. And gay rights? Homosexuals shouldn't need to ask permission in the first place.

"Obama has been insulted more than any other President in the history of the United States..." to quote you, "Read a history book sometime..." Look at GWB. Not defending him, but seriously, every President is insulted.

MB, you seem very well-versed in history, but your current events are lacking. Either that or you have an idealist vision of the present, and k2yeb has an idealistic vision of the past.
