Footage of Minneapolis toddler being bullied goes viral [VIDEO]

Poor Mackenzie's attempts to play with the girls at right both end with her in tears.
A video shot in Minneapolis has gone viral for all the wrong reasons.

The clip shows two young girls, with the encouragement of their older brother, bullying a 3-year-old named Mackenzie Peterson. The three make Mackenzie hit herself, throw one of her toys, and leave her crying twice.

Here's the footage, which, according to the Daily Mail, has been viewed over 250,000 times after it was first posted to the internet by the pre-teen boy who can be seen and heard encouraging the bullying in the video:

As you'd imagine, because the bullies are black and Mackenzie is white, many commenters conjectured that the bullying was racially motivated. But during a recent interview with Fox 9, the father of the 12-year-old black boy and his two 5-year-old sisters insisted that's not the case.

"I honestly don't know where it comes from. We don't teach that in our household," the father, identified as Eddie, said. "We're not racist, none of that."

Eddie laid most of the blame at the feet of his son. He said his internet privileges have been taken away as part of his punishment.

Eddie (left) and Shawn say their kids frequently play together and claim the video has been blown out of proportion.

Referring to one of his daughters, Eddie said, "She's not that way. You can see she's -- they're -- clearly getting coached through the whole situation."

For his part, Mackenzie's dad, Shawn Peterson, said that while he's "disgusted" by the footage, he believes Eddie is "a good father and everything like that, so I'm not worried about what he's doing over there."

This film should be sent to County Child Protection to have the homes of these children assessed.  Why is the three year-old in the street on her Big Wheel and near these abusive African-American children, crying, with no adult monitoring her and responding to this incident?

It isn't JUST because the bullies are black that people think it was racially fueled. It's because the boy specifically titled the video "When white people piss black people off."

While baby-daddy did discipline his thug son (who will most likely be shot and killed before he reaches 16 years of age, by his own people, btw), I wonder if baby daddy will smack the shit out of little ShaQuiQua and La-Kool-Aid-Iqua? Probably not. Because he knows that these little hoes will probably be knocked up by the time they are 13 and they will continue the family tradition of welfare-collecting.

Diversity: EMBRACE IT!!!!!!

I see the savage African beasts now begin their thuggery at an early age. This is why we need more welfare and social programs. I just know for a fact that if only we increased funding towards these programs, incidents like this would never happen.

Ok calm down everybody. How many of us were bullied or (god forbid) bullied other kids when we were young. I am not condoning the behavior as it is obviously repugnant, but I dont think we have a big enough sample size to claim racism or say that the parents are horrible.  I am sure all of us who are parents would be appalled at our own children's behavior it were being videoed  when they thought nobody was watching.

Expecting less decency, politeness, compassion and kindness in general seems to be the new normal in these US. :(

Why isn't anyone watching this poor toddler? She's clearly in a residential neighborhood and needs to have a caregiver present, given her age.

Every one has an opinion, plain & simple, this is CLEARLY not about race, if YOU are a parent it is YOUR responsibility as a parent to TEACH your kids about RESPECT, WATCH your kids, don't just leave them unattended especially a toddler. This kind of behavior whether your white, black, disabled, Jewish, Polish, has to STOP NOW.

I know where it come from, it comes from having a double standard of expecting less of blacks and the poor and more of whites and the rich in these United State.

"I honestly don't know where it comes from. We don't teach that in our household" ??? Yeah, clearly you don't teach much of anything in your household. Kids learn behaviors, they don't make them up out of thin air. Shame on these parents and their children.

Everything is not black and white. I hate this stupid generation of "quick grab your phone, something is happening". Maybe stop what is happening from getting worse. Oh look mom, a car accident...lets slow down and stare.

It's shameful the comments people are making about these families.  Kids can be extremely cruel and often it has nothing to do with the parents.  Sometimes it does, but without any more information, I am going to give these fathers the benefit of the doubt.  They could of easily refused to comment to the news, and when they did, they handled it maturely and responsibly.  As an educator, I have been involved with many cases of bullying where the parents of the kids who are bullying are completely shocked that their kid was involved in the behavior and were completely unaware of it.  Sure, you have cases where the opposite is true and the parent has more of a "kids will be kids attitude about it," but that is the exception and not the norm.  I hope that these families can use this as an opportunity to learn from each and become better parents for their children.

My finger will always initially point to the age-old, Christianity ideal of "If you spare the rod, you spoil the child," and as a society, as a people, I believe, not to use a word that Christians hate, we have EVOLVED beyond using physical tactics of behavioral correction. It only propagates & perpetuates teaching children to fear something or someone, instead of knowing that some action, some propensity toward doing something detrimental, is just that... detrimental to being a future, viable member of society. "There is no greater illusion than fear, no greater wrong than preparing to defend yourself, no greater misfortune than having an enemy." (excerpt from the Tao Te Ching, Te 46)

What's wrong with Randall's comment? Parents should be raising their own kids and not expect others to. They are the parents responsibility and no one else's... what does having children or not have to do with anything?

You are right Lola that it is beyond wrong. I did miss that you said that. I don't know if I would go as far to say I think the adults are taking it seriously enough though. Personally, I think if they were doing a decent job parenting, their kids wouldn't have been running free in the streets to cause this in the first place. Both sides.

this makes me sick to my stomach and makes me glad my 3 year old knows better and also is brave enough to intervene on others' behalves. good parenting isnt just about teaching your kids not to hit but also about monitoring what they watch on tv and on the internet and also SPENDING TIME WITH THEM. we live in an already fucked up world, so why NOT teach your kids to be kind to others and stick up for others? it's not being a granola eating hippie, it's being a decent human being!!

@altavista What the hell does the color of their skin have to do with it? They're neighbors, and usually friends, as stated in the danged article.

@kennyX  Are you fucking joking? You can't seriously be that outwardly racist and think that posting those thoughts are going to go over well. You are absolutely wretched.

You sure would have made one hell of a nazi in Hitler's era, ya dildo. Please do us all of a favor and don't reproduce. Don't even think of it.

@Moux Mel

Actually the parents need more tax-payer funded social programs so that parents who have no parenting skills whatsoever (and no means to support them) can sit on their ass all day long so the Govern-Mint can take care of them. It is the Democrat way.

@levering

Well, it's the fucking truth. Why can't you racist (anti-White) Libtards just admit that there is a severe violence problem within the African American community? Why do you have to sugar-coat it and think that throwing tax money into social programs and welfare is going to solve the problem? IT FUCKING DOESN'T!  The statistics of the 40+ years of welfare ("The Great Society") has proven that government dependence only contributes to more government dependence  (aka poverty) and thus, crime.

Are you really that fucking stupid that you can't read between the lines? You probably are. You probably think that Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson are heros of the African American community, when it reality, all they do is further bring them down while filling their pockets with cash. I honestly don't hate African Americans . I understand and sympathize with their plight. Who I do hate are white guilt Liberals such as yourself who perpetuate the welfare-poverty-crime status quo.

Keep on voting Democrat. This disease will only continue.

@kennyX You got all the answers. You know so much about the government I'm surprised you aren't president. It's amazing. Everybody should vote for you. Under-educated, assumptive, hateful, and un-loved, you are a shining beacon of what America should strive for! Keep spreading hate. It hurts you the most.

levering
levering

@kennyX You honestly think it's just a matter of voting democrat or republican? Then you're the stupid one. Things are not that simple.

If you look at the history of blacks in our country, then it makes perfect sense why they've always had a hard time rising up in their communities and not taking to crime and/or ending up in poverty. First, we made them our slaves...then when that was abolished, we segregrated ourselves from them and kept them oppressed. They may have been OFFERED similar opportunies as us white folk, but there's always been a form of opposition keeping them down below the made-up superiority whites have always given themselves. Separate but equal? Come on. You've been afforded every opportunity in the world because you grew up white. I don't care if you came from poverty or not, you still have had it better just because of the color of your stupid skin. So unless you can see that you're a huge part of the reason blacks will continue to find it hard to rise up and become successful as a race, you can keep calling them "savage African beasts" and I'll still think you're a complete fucking self-righteous, racist asshole. Now get back to your issue of Guns & Ammo and go hang up some Ron Paul posters. (There's a couple ridiculous stereotypes for you since you offered up a buffet of them for me.)
