NerdWallet name checks Fort Snelling State Park
We know that the Twin Cities have the the country's best parks and fittest people. So it only stands to reason that we'd win another distinction right where those honors intersect: Best city for recreational activity.

According to the consumer advocacy company NerdWallet, Minneapolis is it. Not the Twin Cities, mind you. St. Paul merits its own solo spot at the top of the list, in third.

To create the list, NerdWallet analyst Divya Raghavan used data from the Trust for Public Land to look at four factors: The number of public rec facilities -- think ball diamonds, skateboard parks, and ice-skating rinks, along with acres of parkland, senior centers, and playgrounds.

At the end of Raghavan's crunching, Minneapolis came out on top. Raghavan shouts out downtown ice skating at The Depot, along with our six public skate parks and seven public golf courses.

St. Paul, meanwhile, gets nods for horseshoe courts and the city's adaptive recreational programs for residents with disabilities.

The top four rounds out with Madison in second place and Cincinnati, Ohio ranked third. NerdWallet's verdict seems to be that if you want to play outside, the Midwest is the best place to do it.

Love Larry's comment.

And the inflated ego of the city grows a little more.

St. Paul is third? Probably because of easy access to Minneapolis.

St. Paul has way better river access and more of it than Mpls does. I live in Mpls because I like it better than St. Paul, but i resent our lack of wild areas and the fact that our fair city has so many asshats that say stupid stuff. You'd get eaten alive Iif you tried a jungle trek through Cherokee Park or Crosby Farm Park. Stick to what you know, and judging by your fb pic, that looks like "being a pussy full-time"
