And this photo was tweeted by Anne Danovic (she later said the accident occurred at the intersection of 1st Street and 5th Avenue by the RiverWest condo building): That's all we know for now. We'll update as more information becomes available.

:::: UPDATES ::::

KSTP has tweeted an aerial photo of the crash scene: Meanwhile, for other Pedal Pubs, it's apparently business as usual: WCCO provides more information about the circumstances of the crash and resulting injuries:
The pedal pub, which is a mobile bar that navigates city streets powered by the cycling moves of its riders, was going down a hill while heading east on South First Street.

The pub was going to fast [sic], authorities said, when it tried to make a turn to the right to go up Fifth Avenue.

The pub tipped over, spilling its riders onto the street. Authorities said 10 people received scrapes.
'CCO also tweeted out this picture: And from Rochelle Olson: The Star Tribune reports that "one person suffered serious enough injuries to be taken to the hospital."

Ok, I feel a little bad for the injured people, but this is nothing short of hilarious.

Its hard enough to drive in the city without adding a vehicle the size of a small bus powered by drunken shenanigans as another obstacle. These things should be banned in Minneapolis. If you want to peddle around drunk go do it in Blaine where you won't be adding to the traffic issues. Don Samuels can we get a little help here - please?

this isn't supposed to happen in minnesota. It was supposed to be wisconsin. Curses, foiled again.

Not surprising at all.  Just yesterday I was nearly run down when they took the the left turn off the 3rd Ave bridge right over there.  Now, I was jaywalking so I would be my own damn fault but I was shocked at how fast they took the corner, faster than most cars do at that spot.

Also, It's not being driven by "drunk ass fools." The driver is an employee. The driver controls the speed, the braking and the steering. There is nothing intoxicated about the operation of the Pedal Pub.

Spilled beer is all that matters. Not good.

We just did the Pedal Pub last week and I remember THAT corner (Heather was our driver). We also took it too fast. A bunch of the stuff on our Pedal Pub car went flying off when we rounded the corner. I have photos of us gathering up all our stuff that went flying. Maybe that corner should be avoided.

I would rather rent a party bus... drinking alcohol and physical activity seems like a serious health risk, especially during a hot day. I can't believe someone hasn't fallen off one of these things and get ran over by car. My buddy is a driver for 952LIMOBUS. I rented one for my bday, had no fear of getting ran over, had cold a/c blasting in my face, and not to mention there's a sound system. Pedal Pub is a cool idea but not practical in busy downtown areas. Maybe they can work in the suburbs or ride around lakes or something, but that would boring.

Thank goodness I only ride the hard liquor and wine peddle-pub, not those crazy ones fueled by beer!

The only type of vehicle that allows public intoxication... I can't even drink a beer in a park ... End the pedal pubs!

Its a shame!! All that spilled beer breaks my heart!!

Ha Carrie, i'm sure they're fun but i still hate them. They screw up traffic and people are always acting like fools on them. It's not only annoying but distracting!

Yikes. Sounds like a potential law suit in that case.

The driver is from the pedal pub company, and does NOT drink..the pedal pubbers are just pedaling and leave it up to the driver to control

I hope everyone is okay, but geezuschrist...it's hard not to laugh about one of these things (finally) crashing. It's being driven by a dozen drunkass fools.

I have seen the pedal pubs flying at excessive speeds down a hill on Franklin that comes into lyndale. Only a matter of time before they would crash somewhere with the lack of responsibility I have seen them display.

How do you crash a vehicle that goes like 10 mph.

I'm laughing as I read this.  But seriously, how is this NOT a legitimate DUI?

They may have one sober person steering and trying to apply the brakes, but if your car has three or four accelerator pedals and they can overwhelm the braking system, you shouldn't let drunk people use them.

It's time to take the Pedal Pubs off the roads.  The potential for disaster is too great.

I'm glad no one was seriously hurt, but what would we all be saying now if someone had gotten a serious TBI and was in a coma now?

BAN THEM FROM ALL STREETS, DO US ALL A FAVOR!

I bet the reason it tipped was because the "driver" was busy puffing away on his e-cig, since he can't use it in a Hennepin County building, providing a barrier to quitting smoking.

Here's why they suck: they're annoying to drive anywhere near, the people on there think others give a shit that they're on the stupid things and won't shut up about it, trying to be the center of everyone's attention, they're annoying to residents on the streets they go through, and they screw over bartenders by wasting their space and time and just ordering water since they're drinking on the pedal pub. It's just a dumb idea.

Funny...almost got hit by one on Monroe today when it decided me on my bike didn't have the right of way when I stopped at the stop sign first...sigh.

Now they are going to require air bags and seat belts.

@ElliotPark If it's that "hard" to drive in the city - take the bus!

@Aimee Jackson Speaking of fools - do you actually know anything about how a pedal pub operates?

@Andrew Casey I've seen them come down that hill hundreds of times and not one has ever crashed - seems pretty responsible to me. They're having fun so leave them alone, grandpa.

@Nate Reiter So because of what's happening in Egypt, nothing else is worthy of being reported on? How about, instead of making a shitty comment, you go read some more stories about Egypt?

@McLain Causey totally suck, they really do.... unless you're the self-absorbed type.

@Keith Dalluhn naw, just ban them from city streets...do us all a favor.

Bus drivers have the same issues with these suburban tourists as cars and bikers do. Last week with a pedal pub in front of me, a PP rider jumped off the pub into traffic to chase down the paper Uncle Sam hat that blew off his head. We don't need these people in the city - please stay in Blaine.

@ElliotPark I have issues with bus drivers sometimes - that's life - you just let it roll off your shoulders and get on with it. Bottom line, it's a small business serving a niche, making money and the people riding them seem to be having fun. Get the stick out of your ass and calm down.
