BREAKING: There's lots of white people in the suburbs.
Using 2010 census data, a map showing the racial breakdown of the Twin Cities doesn't contain many surprises. To take a couple examples, the metro's African American population is concentrated in North Minneapolis, while the highest concentration of Asians is in Frogtown.

Whites fill in the gap between the metro's two urban cores and envelope Twin Cities minority communities from all corners of the suburbs.

Here's the map, which was posted in this Reddit thread (click to enlarge -- for a higher-resolution version click here):

It's a Democrat DFL city.  What do you expect.   Property Taxes are how the liberal DFL segregate!   Meanwhile the DFL will demagogue this segregated class by inventing word phrases like "Achievement Gap, inequality, Income Gap.........."   But these segregated areas will continue to get the DFL vote thus bringing full circle the Permanent Underclass the Democrats need to keep getting elected.    It's why democrats are against School Choice!  It's why their programs keep these poor folks where they are, never improving their situation, never truly lifting them up.  Yup, a permanent Underclass of Voters.  Accomplished by raising property taxes to make it affordable to live in a better area.     Look around at the Major Metro areas controlled by democrats:  Detroit, LA, Chicago, Mpls/St. Paul.............   Try and reform anything and the Dems just say "the GOP wants to take it away from you."

Minnesota has one of the worst achievement gaps in this country; and, regardless of whether people choose to acknowledge reality or not, is not a Minnesota-nice Lutheran-church-picnic utopia for everybody who chooses to live here. This city is still largely segregated (as the data shows, duh) and that segregation is representative of significant disparities between white Minnesotans and non-white Minnesotans. If you’re only taking this data as “[x] group of people live in [y] neighborhood,” I’m afraid that you’re missing the point. It’s newsworthy.

Has anyone heard of the white flight of the previous generation? This is not news.

@Mundo Garza Nava You're right, there is an achievement gap. There is also a crime gap. A drug use gap. And a talking loudly during a movie gap.

@Mundo Garza Nava You think Minneapolis and St. Paul are bad. I suggest visiting cities like Memphis, Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Washington D.C., Baltimore, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Los Angeles, Birmingham, Cincinnati, Boston, St. Louis, Cleveland, Miami, New York City, Philadelphia, Chicago, Newark, Milwaukee, or Detroit  to get a taste of segregation.

@really This major metro area is like any other that is controlled 100% by democrats-a hell hole that you cant get out of.  It's why property taxes, raised astronomically by democrats are the number one force for such segregation.  Democrats need a permanent underclass to get elected.  It's why they fight tooth-and-nail against School Choice, demagogue issues and programs that give free stuff, and keep their unholy alliance with Unions.  See all other Major Metro areas controlled by Lib Dems: Detroit, LA, Houston.......................   Good luck changing this!

Way to look at a situation and manage to miss all but the most simple interpretation. You have just proven how easy racism is when you're dumb as fuck.

As far as metropolitan areas with a population of over 500,000 (102 metros): the Minneapolis - St. Paul MSA ranks 60th out of 102 for Black-White segregation; 54th for Hispanic-White segregation; and 39th for Asian-White segregation.

@Drewey LOL! It must torture you so much to not be a poor disenfranchised minority. How do you live with your white guilt?
