Bradlee Dean brags about rescuing young woman from boys, booze... and sports?

Dean came along just in the nick of time to save Elizabeth from a life where she did crazy things like worry about her job and studies.
Bradlee Dean's latest fundraising missive brags about the role his ministry played in rescuing a young woman "from a life centered on alcohol, sports, jobs, boys, and studies."

The Bluestem Prairie blog reports that the woman, referred to in the mailer as "Elizabeth," is Elizabeth Ilse (pictured above), who was quoted in one of our posts last year saying she views Dean as "speaking out about the core principles and values the [Republican] party supposedly believes in."

From the mailer:
Let me tell you about Elizabeth, one of our staffers. Less than two years ago, our You Can Run But You Cannot Hide ministry came to her college. Our message of Biblical and Constitutional truths intrigued her.

You see, only a month before, she had given her life to Christ, and had prayed that the Lord would rescue her from a life centered on alcohol, sports, jobs, boys, and studies.

And here was our ministry, speaking boldly, holding out a ray of hope -- not only for one's spiritual direction, but for real hope for America. Elizabeth has since joined our staff, and helps others like herself.

Can you help us reach more youth like Elizabeth?
The mailer also says Elizabeth was one of the Dean staffers who got smacked by an irate, bag-toting woman while his ministry was trying to fundraise outside a Florida gas station a few months ago.

So, would you rather spend your summer putting your physical wellbeing on the line while trying to raise money so Minnesota's foremost tracksuit-wearing homophobe can pay his rent and his legal bills (while keeping a nice chunk of change for himself), or would you rather chase tail while boozing it up out on the town? Call us hedonists, but that doesn't seem like a very tough call.

I'm Bradlee's half brother and the complete opposite of what his views are (must've been that I was adopted out at birth and had a totally different upbringing). Yup, he's a tool. Always has been, according to the people I have met that knew him. I remember when he did cocaine and sold his drum kit to buy a bump back in the day. Then he found 'God', then we hit the coke again. Then he married the preachers daughter after knocking her up. The fucker is a yo-yo. Love to all...

Would you prefer Bradlee Dean be on welfare Aaron Rupar?

I am sorry that you are having a bad time lately, your work seeths with your anger.  Just a recommendation, Instead of calling people "homophobes and Islamophobes" you should consider a more simple approach and just begin to call everyone that you don't agree with "Fraidy-cats."

Good to know that any young lady associating with Bradlee Dean is in no danger of associating with Boys in any sexual way.  Although, truth be told, we all probably already knew that.  And jobs and studies won't be much of a risk, either.

Seems like she didnt need much convincing if she wrote it prior to her time working with him. And it doesn't say 100% give up. It says focus. There's a difference. We all have to work, maintain relationships, and participate in daily social conventions but that does not mean you have to dedicate your life to those things. I'm not familiar with this particular woman and her situation, but its pretty normal to make statements like she did, to have a desire to find purpose outside of the meaningless everyday routines a culture expects you to participate in. I'm sure if she said she had wanted to focus her life on mediation and being one with nature instead of focusing her life on the Christian teachings, cp (and all ya'll) wouldn't be so quick to criticize her choices.

Convincing a young person to give up on sports, education, and employment is a pretty harmful "choice".

This item has more heat than an earlier, more delicious Brad Dean Smith item from this very same week. Why is that? What could a story about an attractive young woman have that a story about a vacated "international" headquarters doesn't? What could it possibly be?

Bradlee Dean is a racist, a homophobe, and he desecrates steak with steak sauce. I cannot abide him one single bit!

How is this worthy of news? People can live their lives however they'd like to. If that means it's not centered around boys, booze, and school, that's up to them. A lot of people choose to focus their lives of many different things. Just because you don't understand it doesn't give you a right to criticize their life choices.

Finally, you bastards at CP post something about the positive work Brad Dean Smith's ministry is doing. That's the problem with the media, always so negative.

Her family should be very proud of the fine young woman Elizabeth is growing up to be. Does she wear tracksuits now?

Nothing more hedonistic than a life centered on jobs and studies.

@j.reiter So what you are asking, is that Mr. Rupar write in a more dumbed down manner so you can understand better?  I know Rupar isn't going to win a Pulitzer anytime soon but I am all for calling people out on their BS.  If you speak ill of homosexuals based on personal feelings, guess what?  You're a homophobe!  If you judge someone because they are Islamic, guess what?  Oh I bet you can answer that one!  I know you can!  Don't forget to breathe...

@Ari Woeste all ya'll? sorry toots, i didn't criticize her choices. try not to paint with a broad brush, just as you ask all of us not to do.

@Ari Woeste You're under the impression that these web gems at CP online are news items? Not always, honey!

So you are obviously an expert at these naming conventions; what do you call it when someone hates traditional values, Christians or white people?

Three names or you will not be taken seriously.

j.reiter
j.reiter

Why with every smart thing that you said, would you malinger on not understanding what I mean when I say traditional values? We live in the United States, is your worldview so corrupt that you deny that there was ever any commonality among Americans? You seem to be able to identify other cultural Norms and ideas but want to deny mine? That's pretty fucked up buddy; not since the Jews were lead by Joshua has there been such a push to deny and erase a culture.

bill.e.goat
bill.e.goat

@j.reiter Well first and foremost that first one is right out the window...define for me if you will "traditional values".  Do you have any idea how stupid that phrase even is?  Whose traditions?  Whose values?  This could, and does differ vastly depending where in the world you are.  (Perhaps remember that not all humans live in the bubble that is the United States)  Not touching that one with a ten foot pole.  People who hate Christians would be called Christophobics...pretty simple stuff here, and people who hate white people are called racists.  Did I express myself monosyllabically enough for you?
