Driver fleeing state trooper hits, kills man near St. Anthony Main [PHOTOS]

:::: UPDATE :::: Brody Sotona's family blames State Patrol for fatal St. Anthony Main-area crash

Around 1 a.m. this morning, 24-year-old Spring Valley, Wisconsin, resident Brody Sotona was killed near St. Anthony Main on the fringe of downtown Minneapolis when his vehicle was struck by another driven by Yia Her.

Her, a 34-year-old St. Paul resident, was fleeing a State Patrol squad after he was pulled over "for speed and suspicion of drunk driving," according to State Patrol information.

"The trooper attempted pursuit intervention techniques, but the driver continued to flee and crashed into another vehicle... at 4th Street SE & Central Ave," the State Patrol's incident description says.

KSTP, citing the State Patrol, reports that Sotona's passenger, 24-year-old Connor Macklin of Stillwater, was "seriously injured" in the crash.
