Damn you, Portland.

According to the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau's American Community Survey, 6.1 percent of Portlandians biked to work last year. That's tops in the nation, with Minneapolis coming in as first loser at 4.5 percent.

Minneapolis' bike commuting percentage last year was up more than a full percentage point from 2011, meaning more of us are showing up at our respective offices in sweaty clothes than ever.

D.C. was the third best bike commuting city, followed by Seattle and San Francisco.

Minneapolis also ranked pretty high as far as the walk commuting goes, coming in as ninth with 6.9 percent of us walking to work (up from 5.8 percent in 2011).

Boston ranked as the top walking commuting city for 2012. Those damn hipsters in Portland again came one spot ahead of us at eighth.

Nemesis? I'd love to visit Portland someday and just get a map and a bike and explore the city. As great as a biking city as MPLS is, I'd love to see what they have to offer. Portlandia is pretty funny too.
