Elan Uptown's apartment advertisement is extremely bro-y [PHOTO]

As the above photo from Minneapolis/St. Paul's Business Journal reporter Nick Halter indicates, Elan Uptown is appealing to bro-dom in hopes of renting out apartments in its still-under-construction apartment building.

:::: UPDATE :::: Here's another bro'd out Uptown apartment advertisement [PHOTO]

If the font is too small for your eyes, the ad, posted on the side of the Uptown Theater, says, "I don't remember her name. But her apartment..."

Elan Uptown Luxury Apartments is slated to open next spring at 2836 Colfax Ave. S.

Here's a rendering of what the Greenway-facing building will look like when it's completed:

We'd include our own snark but we really couldn't say it better than the Southwest Journal's Dylan Thomas: -- Follow Aaron Rupar on Twitter at @atrupar. Got a tip? Drop him a line at arupar@citypages.com.

Move to NE where the Bros only show up on the weekends. Uptown is no longer for people from Minneapolis. It is now a haven for D-bags , corporate chains and pretentious BS!!  The large majority of people are now from out of state or the suburbs.

This isn't "interesting." It's sexist, repulsive, and reinforces the objectification of women. There's no way that the logic of apartment > woman is acceptable.

Everything west of Colfax has spiraled into the douche vortex. Lyn-Lake still has some appeal, but with the demise of Country Bar and Heidi's, and the rise of the Lime Apts, its time is limited. In a few years Whittier will succumb, too.

Sup brah!?

#i would rather live next to a landfill. These developments are pissing me off. Lived in the area for close to 15 yrs, had about enough.

Pretty much sums up all of Uptown from the past 10 years. Uptown has morphed from coolest part of town to THE place to avoid..

Advertising is Bro-influenced!!?!??!? I was just complaining the other day to my grandmother that TV advertising during sports events has really turned into a show of the new feminist movement....really hard hitting ads that drive home a message of enlightenment and pursuit of knowledge......

Élan sucks. And so do most of the commenters who have never lived in Uptown but pretend to know everything about it

Let me see if I can condense that comment a bit:

"Uptown is a brief layover on path from frat/sorority house to marriage"

There, much better!

Bro's are the only thing you see in uptown anyway, they are just catering to the demographic

I posted on Elan Uptown 's facebook page saying the following: Thanks to City Pages Minneapolis for posting this today - without which I would not have been privy to seeing the distasteful advertisement you are using to attract renters. "I don't remember her name. But her apartment..." The ad is degrading. It basically states that the woman has no value, she's not worth remembering but the piece of real estate is. Please reconsider your ads in the future and take this one down.

Here's Elan Uptown 's FB page if anyone is interested in posting their annoyance with the ad. Or messaging them.

Agreed, I'm pretty disgusted with this development group for running an ad like that. So... you're saying women basically have no value because you can't even remember her name. Gross.

I don't know what's more lame. That ad, or this advertorial.

Would it be better if it said, I don't remember his name, but his apartment…?

How is it a news flash to anyone that Uptown is full of ass wipes? Why not advertise to them? That apartment building will be full in no time.

So did I just skip a lot of awful and implicative steps when I bought a place in the North Loop :P ?

I have been driving by this ad for months seething at how sexist and chauvinist it is. Uptown is becoming sucky because of things like this...

Ick. And this is why I don't go to Uptown anymore. It used to be cool but is now synonymous with douche-lords.

Eew, sounds like a frat house for adult male children. Remind me to NEVER live there.

What's with the snarky tone of your status updates today? Did someone wake up on the wrong side of the printer this morning?

@spincut13 As someone who has lived in the North Loop for about three years now, I can tell you there are PLENTY of entitled douchebag bros (and the awful girls who love them) dwelling there. The only difference is the bros in North Loop have more money.
