His siblings are set for pardons, but this poor fellow will be dinner later this week.
This year, instead of pardoning a turkey, Governor Mark Dayton sentenced one to death.

During a ceremony today, Dayton officially donated the brother of the turkey that will be pardoned by President Obama to the St. Paul Salvation Army, where it'll be used to feed 80 people. Both turkeys were raised in Minnesota.

Here's a selection of tweets from the governor's official account and from reporters covering today's event: It's all smiles and laughs... for everyone but the condemned turkey, of course.

A large turkey could easily feed 80 people.(along with the rest of the donated meal they will receive) 80 poor people that arent used to eating a pile of food every meal and a mountain of food for Thanksgiving. And I don't doubt they will be some of the most genuinely thankful people that day, doubly so as they more than likely wont be distracted by the Black Friday shopping plans that derail most people "Thanksgiving". Off with that turkey's head and be quick about it, those people are hungry!!

The cold winter wind blowing through the cracks in his head must have affected Mayor Dayton's brain!!! :D

I look forward to day we have a vegetarian for Mayor, Governor or even POTUS. Then instead of just talking peace and nonviolence they actually live it.

@Mike Hess Wish the DFL could come up with an asshole tax so people like you have to pay even more!

A 35 lb turkey will dress out to 28 lbs of meat, which is 80 servings at 1/3 lb per serving.
