The scene outside the home damaged by this morning's crash.
About 8:20 this morning, a school bus crashed into a home on the 4200 block of Penn Avenue North after it was struck by an SUV that ran a red light.

On board the bus at the time of the wreck were the driver and one passenger, neither of whom was injured. According to the Minneapolis Police Department, the driver of the SUV was taken to a hospital for treatment.

I had misgivings about the red light cameras, but I will say they did stop red-light running at the intersections where they were installed.  I wish they could have made it so they issued a parking-ticket level violation, rather than a moving violation, if the problem was proving who was driving.  Because now, with overly-aggressive and utterly inattentive driving, you really should count to 5 when the light turns green before you dare cross a busy street.  If you're crossing Park or Portland you shouldn't go until you've made eye contact with all oncoming drivers and you can see they are actually stopping.  Between the texters, web surfers, oblivious gabbers and people who think they're in a video game, it's getting more dangerous out there every day.

Running red lights...it must be a Minnesota thing. When I lived in CA, I didn't see it happen as much as it does here. Here, three cars will go through the light AFTER it has turned RED. What's up with that?

Oh, excuse me, that was your house?? Oops, I thought it was my next stop.... sorry about that. Here, let me call diapatch.... OK... Not appropriate. Thank the good Lord that no children were hurt!!! I tell ya what, you would think that more drivers would see us in the big yellow buses, but the fact is that a lot don't. If they do they are driving like fools to pass us and cut us off so they arent behind us.

I think the driver forgot that it hasn't started snowing yet.

@Cameo Garza the article states 42nd and Penn Ave N - the photos show a house on a corner lot.    I am guessing this house is at the end of the 41XX Penn Ave N
