Stewart Mills, GOP congressional candidate, hits a beer bong [PHOTOS]

-- Update at bottom --

In June, we broke the news that Stewart Mills is a Packers fan. That being the case, perhaps nobody should be surprised to learn that dude knows how to party.

Photos obtained by City Pages show Mills, the Mills Fleet Farm VP and seemingly inevitable 2014 GOP challenger to Rick Nolan, hitting a beer bong and playfully licking the lips of a woman.

The Democratic source who sent along the photos said the following two pictures, posted to Facebook by Mills's wife in February 2009, were deleted sometime after Mills announced his congressional bid earlier this year:

millspartying2.jpg

Takes the "I want to vote for a candidate I can have a beer with" thing to a whole new level, doesn't it?

Another photo from a 2008 Christmas party shows Mills doing his best reptile impersonation on the face of a woman who isn't his wife:

millspartying3.jpg

Surprisingly, that photo is still publicly viewable on Facebook (our source tells us the photo was posted by Mills's stepdaughter). [UPDATE -- Since we've published this, the photo has been taken down.]

At that same party Mills appeared to be dressed up as a hippied-out Bret Michaels:

MillsPartying5.jpg

Mills seems like a lot of fun, but he's also a very serious congressional candidate. It appears he won't face any significant opposition in his bid for the GOP nomination, and numbers released last month indicate he almost doubled Nolan's fundraising during the third quarter.

Nolan defeated Republican incumbent Chip Cravaack by a six point margin in northeast Minnesota's 8th District last year, but the National Republican Congressional Committee has already declared Nolan to be vulnerable heading into next year's campaign.

:::: UPDATE ::::

Mills released a statement in response to the photos he didn't want you to see hitting Blotter. Here it is:
It's no secret that in the past I've let my hair down to have fun with family and friends. My wife and I have had many lighthearted moments in our lives but right now I am focused on my Congressional campaign and the disastrous effects of our overreaching government and sky high unemployment in the north eastern Minnesota [sic].

Ugh! Seriously, this is such a non story. Do us all a favor and take a beer bong yourself.

?? What's the big deal? Probably is policies are really bad (being a republican these days almost automatically guarantee you that..) but the pictures show a nice guy, with a lively demeanor, someone who is not full of himself. The type of person we should have more often as politicians.

"but the National Republican Congressional Committee has already declared Nolan to be vulnerable heading into next year's campaign."

Yeah, the NRCC. Let's see how much money the NRCC puts into the race. The NRCC didn't think that Cravaack was vulnerable. They thought Ellison was. The "numbers released last month" don''t include any NRCC money.

Mills' 'philosophy' is nearly indistinguishable from Kurt Bills. We saw how well that played out. The same people that were high on Kurt Bills and Chris Fields are all excited about Mills. It's always 2010 in Wingnut World. With their "bench" seriously depleted and populated by flops like Quist, the MNGOP is now forced to put unknowns forward and pretend that they have a shot.

Mills, along with whatever poor sap the MNGOP goads into running against Ellison, is just another disposable hero for the MNGOP. When he loses, the same people that are so excited about him will deny that they ever liked him because he's a losing loser who loses, and they only get excited over winners. Weird how Cravaack didn't do anything about "our overreaching government and sky high unemployment in the north eastern Minnesota", though. Mills, as one of 538 other Representatives, will surely change everything. Just like Bachmann did. And John Kline. And Paulsen. Maybe we can get another $24 billion shutdown if Mills gets elected. If only Republicans controlled the House, this country would be paradise. Umm... they already do control the House. But one more guy will make the difference, really.

The State's unemployment rate has now dropped down to 4.8%. Full employment is 4%. The same people that are all giddy over Mills told us that Dayton would bring us high unemployment. But, yeah, let's keep listening to the same people that keep on predicting the end of the world. By now, they are all supposed to be in FEMA death camps and we are supposed to be bowing to Mecca at gunpoint. But I'm sure that these same geniuses are totally right about Mills' chances.

Does anybody here remember being young? I remember doing some pretty stupid Shyt when I was in my twenties and didn't really smarten up until my kids entered grade school, then thing became more serious. I stopped drinking to excess on weekends. I gave up the occasional joint, left all my single friends for married couple friends, stopped wasting money on meaningless crap. I would not vote for him if he had not had a change but I'm not the person I was when I was even thirty. People could trust me now with their children, their wives, and their money. So do yourself a favor, he who has not sinned may cast the first stone, be careful of uninformed judgement lest you be judged the same way!

I would expect a certain level of maturity and this guy does not have it. If he is out partying like a college student and licking other womens faces when he has a wife and kids, why should I trust him to be a good member of Congress?

This guy wouldn't get a job flipping burgers from me.

Interesting how according to many of the folks commenting here it's unethical (or ?) to drink beer from a bong or whatever Mr. Mills had done in the article.  However, it's fine to say "I never had sex with that woman" or more recently, "you will be able to keep your insurance, period" or "you will be able to keep your doctor, period" and all these things are overlooked by these same folks!  I seem to recall a statement I have heard that went something like, "whichever of you that has not sinned, throw the first stone".  Just maybe some of you naysayers should consider that!!

HAHAHA!

Nowadays, every crackpot lunatic in the country thinks they could win a Republican primary if they decided to run for office.

And the sad part is, they're probably right.

When I was elected mayor, we accomplished eliminating the city's debt , lowered the taxes by. 20% , and I voted against raises for the council. And there are also photos of me having a beer at at a Halloween party too! My wife of 27 years and I go to Moondance Jam and WEFEST and enjoy being around people who laugh and even drink beer too! I am sure that if a candidate could only get votes from people who have had a photo of themselves drinking a beer, that candidate would easily win ! I will put more emphasis on the debates and especially their game plan to improve our country 's economic slide than this type of so called journalism! If you as a journalist thought this would help Mr.Nolan, you have made a mistake. It shows more Mr Mills is just a normal red blooded American! I apologize for criticizing this , however I just don't want to see journalism sink to this level! That goes for all political parties!

@avbsoftworks There are people who don't party hard, and never have.  I can't say i'm one of them, but know some of them, and it's not like they are that rare.  They're pretty damned rare in Congress though.  This idiot would fit right in with that zoo of greedy fakes, drunks, cheaters, cokeheads, liars, and closeted homosexual born again Christians.

@johnk9 @selvestra  .. also typical behavior (and political philosophy) of someone born into a wealthy family.. we're not talking Walton's wealth here, but I don't think he had to tug too hard on his own bootstraps to become a VP at his family's business.. (oh!.. the struggles this poor lad must've faced.. at where, exactly?.. Princeton?.. Dartmouth?)..
.. the Republican right is endorsing him because he's one of their heroes; rich & white, those are his only bona fides (and the only ones that count to the right).. AND he's got a butt-load of his family's money thrown in to boot!.. a perfect right-wing candidate.. he's even supporting the NRA's nutty philosophy.. everybody who wants a gun, any kind of gun, deserves it - to carry around any place he wants to at any time..
.. it's truly pathetic, the only thing more pathetic is the fact that he'll probably do pretty well in central MN politics. . .

@johnk9 @selvestra John, I did not say it's unethical.  I said that's what some folks say.  Also, it's foolish to do such things when young but if you must be an idiot most people are that for one reason or another!!
