Fame Driven, citing an unnamed source close to A-Rodg and his alleged ex-boyfriend, reports that the former MVP was one of four NFL players who were in talks last spring with former Ravens linebacker and gay rights advocate Brendon Ayanbadejo about coming out as a group. But for whatever reason, A-Rodg got cold feet, and his reluctance caused a rift between him and his alleged ex, the report says.
The Fame Driven started doing some online sleuthing after they received this anonymous tip about Rodgers and his former personal assistant and roommate, Kevin Lanflisi:
Aaron has attended numerous sports award shows with Kevin, always color coordinated and without any double female dates, including the ESPY's. Kevin was also the first person Aaron embraced when the Packers won the Super-bowl in 2011. I just find it really strange that as of late there has been many bitter subliminal tweets on Kevin Lanflisi's twitter alluding to a relationship much deeper than a friendship he had, with who I perceive to be Aaron Rodgers, because Kevin has NEVER once tweeted about having a girlfriend, just mainly about the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Rodgers, and Justin Bieber's music and sitting front row at Bieber's concert. There has been speculation for years here in Wisconsin that Aaron is gay which I always brushed off, but after looking at Kevin's twitter I'm inclined to believe Aaron and Kevin were more than just roommates/friends, I believe they were lovers.Tweets from Lanflisi's Twitter account suggest that while he and Rodgers were besties up through the end of 2011, something caused them to drift apart since then. Consider the tweet at the top of the post, along with warm exchanges like this one (most of the tweets featured in this post have since been deleted from Lanflisi's account):
But according to Fame Driven, Lanflisi recently moved back to California, where he's posting cryptic breakup tweets like this:
In one since-deleted tweet from this September, Lanflisi, wearing a wrestling-style championship belt -- A-Rodg's trademark touchdown celebration involves him pretending to put on a belt of that sort -- suggests he's keeping a secret that might be revealed sooner or later:
Rodgers is a devout Christian. During a radio appearance in late 2011, he explained his faith thusly:
I feel like my stance and my desire has always been to follow a quote from St. Francis of Assisi, who said, 'Preach the gospel at all times. If necessary, use words.' So basically, I'm not an over-the-top, or an in-your-face kind of guy with my faith. I would rather people have questions about why I act the way I act, whether they view it as positive or not, and ask questions, and then given an opportunity at some point, then you can talk about your faith a little bit. I firmly believe, just personally, what works for me, and what I enjoy doing is letting my actions speak about the kind of character that I want to have, and following that quote from St. Francis.Indeed, Fame Driven tempers its own report with a bit of skepticism, writing that "it's very far fetched and hard to comprehend or believe one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL (Aaron Rodgers) and a hip hop gospel poet (Kevin Lanflisi), both devout Christians, engaged in an alleged homosexual relationship." Then again, there are plenty of Christian denominations that are gay friendly, so it's not as though being Christian and being gay are mutually exclusive.
