MNGOP leader Kurt Daudt suggests today's freezing temps mean global warming is a myth

KurtDaudt.jpg
Kurt Daudt: Not a scientist.
It's freezing outside today today. Therefore, global warming isn't happening.

You don't have to ace a college logic class to understand why that's a bunk argument. Nonetheless, it's the sort of taking-empiricism-to-a-whole-new-level reasoning MNGOP House Minority Leader Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, wants you to ponder as you shiver.

Daudt offered up this tweet early this afternoon: Because if global warming were a real thing, we'd all be at Hidden Beach right now basking in the warm sun. Or something.

It's happening whether he believes it or not. I just wish we'd stop electing stupid people because they claim to believe in the right version of god.

Kurt Daudt is an imbecile. Just like every other person in elected office.

Kurt Daudt represents the best and brightest the MN Regressive Party has to offer. The devolution of the MN Regressive Party continues. With any luck they will shrink themselves to a size where they can be drowned in a bathtub.

This guy is so evil, it's not as though liberals have ever used unusually warm weather anecdotes to say global warming is real.

I'd believe ANYTHING that a stooge for conservative politicians has to say. Obviously he knows more than scientists do.

This guy is being lobbied by Jesus to ban abortion so global warming can freeze the next gay marriage.

It's fine if you have some good scientific reason to doubt global climate change but you're just screaming "I'M AN IDIOT" if you use cold weather as your justification.

Hipster media doesn't like people asking the tough questions:  climate change is hip, so Rep. Daudt suffers the wrath of the hipsters for even questioning hipster orthodoxy.

Its interesting to me that the vast majority of scientists who study global warming are all in the pocket of gov't since a few of them receive grants etc. But the few who dispute the science aren't in the employ of the oil companys. Yeah right. Reminds me of those tobacco scientists they used to have.

how can you tell when a conservative is lying?

Wait a minute. Why are we supposed to hate this guy again? Was it his sarcasm or are we pretending he really beleives that today proves there is no global warming? Or, is it "climate change" and is it man made? Oh, and should we spew hatred at leftists who claim the incredibly low current rate (and high rate previously) of hurricanes is proof of something? And, while we are hating on people, someone let me know what the word means and who owns it. Then, show me evidence that the anthropogenic theory works better than the solar model. But, I probably will ignore it because your anger will pretty much turn me off the entire topic.

He should look up NAO and AO and see if he understands it clearly then. But I doubt it.

@LynniAnnYou don't see any parallel with automatically making Daudt a hero for taking on the oppressive 'hipsters'?

He's not brave. He's saying exactly what he needs to say to keep his job, whether he believes it or not. He's saying exactly what people like to you want to hear, because he knows that you won't 'over-think it'.

Ten years ago, conservatives would have vented their wrath on you for having a 'victim mentality' and being a 'whiner'. Conservatives have gone from being the "real majority" to an "oppressed minority"  almost overnight, because both of those 'facts' were convenient to the conservative cause at different points in time.

And, Daudt isn't "asking the tough questions", either. He's not asking a question at all. He's using to smug innuendo to imply something *without actually saying it*. And you think that's brave of him.

@LynniAnn intelligent and thought provoking as usual.

It gets more interesting. The government, who has all of these scientists in their pocket, is also simply giving the fossil fuel industry about seven billion a year that the oil and coal companies don't seem to need.

You know what else is interesting? The same wingnuts who demand 100% certainty and consensus from scientists are the same ones that routinely embrace the wildest conspiracies that are absolutely devoid of fact.

So in the first paragraph, you agree that it's a conspiracy. In the second paragragh, it's science. Awesome, got it.
