A recent study concluded that Lowertown is the top hipster zip in 'Murica. So we suppose it makes sense that the final renderings of the St. Paul Saints' new Lowertown ballpark feature two hipsters riding a scooter through the concourse. (That image is at the top of this post.)

The final revised images were released a little over a month after previous renderings released by Ryan Cos., the ballpark's general contractor, were criticized by state officials for being too suburban. Indeed, you won't find too many dudes who look as hip as the aforementioned scooter duo in White Bear Lake or Woodbury.

Here are two other renderings of the new ballpark released today:

The 7,000-seat, $63 million ballpark is scheduled to open in time for the Saints' 2015 season.

Yeah, cause nothing says hipster like wearing a shiny new helmet with a camera on top while riding a Hoveround in khaki shorts. Were you high when you wrote this?

An important point needs to made here that should clear up the hipster debate... Those gentlemen in the rendering are not riding scooters, they're riding motorized toilets. Therefore, they are not "hipsters", they are "bros".

more like running from the ghetto trash that is taking over this part of town

Where are they going to PARK their scooters?  Lowertown is flattened and immobilized already twice a year from the St. Patrick's Day and Winter Carnival Parades.  As a resident, I try hard to just not be home during those times because it's impossible to get in and out of my building, which is less than two blocks from the door of this new structure.  As far as I can tell everybody keeps yelling about how much benefit we're supposed to have from all that foot traffic, but it sounds pretty badly-planned to me.  And not much good to anyone not selling beer.

I don't think they really know what a hipster is..

Where are these hipsters you speak of? I see douches on toilets but no hipsters on scooters.

Uh no, Lowertown is in St. Paul. But I gotta agree with someone else, that outfield looks WAY too big on the artist drawing

The line about not seeing them in woodbury is hilarious, I think if you went into a sports bar in any suburb, that's all you would see.

Whoa. What are the dimensions? The outfield looks a little deep.

So they're hipsters because they're riding make-shift scooters with a GoPro attached to a helmet? You'd be better off just calling them a them duo of drunkards. Nothing in that picture highlights anything hipster-stereotype. A-Rup, dude you need to work on highlighting your posts with stupid callouts.

What exactly makes them hipsters? They look like bros.

@Sam Adamsson Just fine? Not in my experience. The ballpark was not built to accommodate 6,000+ fans 40+ times per season, and for whatever reason they're building new rather than dumping millions into upgrades Midway should have had before the first Saints game two decades ago. Midway is a crappy stadium in a crappy location. I'm not convinced Lowertown is the best place for the new stadium, but there are plenty of good reasons to build something new.

@Sam Adamsson Look at these plans...even in this polished rendering it looks cheaper than most MLB team's spring training parks. Midway Stadium is literally crumbling...it has to be replaced if anyone wants to watch baseball there and putting the field in a revitalized segment of St Paul that will benefit from the increased foot traffic makes far more sense than keeping them banished to a train yard.

@Sam Adamsson right?! I always had good times when i went to saints games, good atmosphere, and good enough ballpark for a a minor league team!
