Toward that end, the MPD released two security stills showing the robbers in action yesterday morning at the Subway at 2400 E. Hennepin Ave.
One is at the top of this post. Here's the second:
The MPD says the men, wearing masks, forced an employee into a cooler before making off with a backpack, cell phone, and undisclosed amount of cash.
Police believe the same three suspects are connected with recent robberies at the Subways at 3541 Cedar Ave. S. and 3621 W. 50th St., and the Quiznos at 1851 Washington Ave. S. They may also have been involved in recent robberies in Minnetonka and St. Anthony.
The suspects are believed to be between 20 and 25. Two of them are black, while the third's race is unknown. They seem to always work in a group and brandish guns.
Elder acknowledges "you can't tell a lot" from the security stills, but says the hope is that "maybe someone will recognize something from them, like the clothing they're wearing."
Nobody has been physically harmed during the course of any of the aforementioned robberies, but Elder says the suspects have had "physical contact" with employees.
If you have any information, the MPD asks you to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477. A $1,000 reward is available.
