Target scrubs website of photoshop fail involving model's crotch [IMAGE]

Target is no longer selling the leopard print version of the "Xhilaration" junior's swimsuit on its website, but not for reasons that have anything to do with the product itself.

Instead, the item was pulled after a blog post on blogilates.com made light of a terrible photoshop job involving the swimsuit model's crotch and arms. (The photoshop failure was later picked up and brought to a wider audience by Jezebel.)

The screengrab at the top of this post shows you a closeup of the model's crotch, which features strange photoshopping between her legs creating the illusion her swimsuit is plastered to her inner thighs.

In addition, here's another screengrab clearly showing some sort of inhuman jagged skin triangle thing below her armpit:

A lot of customers probably didn't notice, however. Here's how the webpage looked un-zoomed:

We attempted to click through and check out the product post on Target's website for ourselves, but noticed the link led to a blank page. So we contacted the company to see if that's the result of a technical glitch or a decision to pull the image from the interwebs.

Sounds like it was the latter.

Asked what the deal with the blank webpage is, Target spokesperson Evan Miller told us, "We apologize and are working to address this issue on our site."

If we unsubscribed to the city pages then who would call them out on their terrible journalism and lack of quality content?! LOL

Poor imaging, the person who did this should be fired. It's one thing to touch up someone. It should be natural looking, not a hack job. The person who did this is unqualified and doesn't respect their work.

Frankly, not only does photoshopping models and the clothing they wear seriously bend truth in advertising when it comes to women's clothing, this has a serious effect on young consumers and what they see to the the standard of attainable beauty... or did you mean that they reposted? Because that's a pretty common practice among news and media outlets that want to stay alive on the internet.

You people do realize you can unsubscribe to City Pages if you hate their posts, right? It's a free country.

This is awesome, considering that City Pages has a photoshopped pretty lady as their profile image right now.....

They actually reported it four days ago. Check the date on the article. They are just so hard up for content they are repost-stars.

@mari the flap may or may not be her hair but if you look at her hip there is also a 'bad erase' triangle bit - so definitely still made 'skinnier'

Forehead smack....when will retailers learn they can sell products without toothpicking their models?Duh.

The 'flap' is her hair hanging down behind her

Why are we (supposedly) attracted to, or (supposedly) desire inhuman body shapes exactly?

After this big Target security breach is all done you'll find out it was perpetrated by some locals. Guaranteed.

Maybe she forgot to wax her bikini line so they made a bathing suit to cover it.

Why would they need to photoshop that model? She probably looked stunning pre-photoshop. Photoshop ruins the natural beauty of women (and people in general).

Target, how are you a billion dollar company with such ratchet photoshop skills? Smh. That extra $85 I spent just the other day could have surely afforded you one decent retouch image couldn't it?

First is was all about the "thigh gap", now we have to achieve an "armpit flap", too? Oh, it's tough to be a human, these days...

Alyxandra Marie

The issue should not be that we noticed a hacked photoshop pic. It SHOULD be why were they giving her such an unrealistic thigh "gap".

Also i bet the photoshopper was fully aware what they were doing. #conspiracy #theories

Couple of theorys: 1. An artist was irritated to be photoshopping an already thin model to look taller and thinner and hacked the job on purpose. 2. The photoshopping is sent overseas to someone being paid very little to do a large amount of images and they forgot a step or two in the process. Either way, there was a request made by a Target exec to make the model thinner and taller. The back view on this one is also botched. So we'll stick with scenario #2 listed above, although I prefer scenario #1 (mad artist!): http://www.target.com/p/xhilaration-junior-s-midkini-2-piece-swimsuit-bird-print/-/A-15033654
