Three charged for downtown Mpls bar close drive-by crossfire that injured two innocents

Two women driving in the vicinity of Second Avenue North and Fourth Street in downtown Minneapolis just after bar close on Saturday morning wound up with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds after people in two cars behind them started shooting at each other.

The gunfire shattered the back window of the car the women were driving. They drove to the hospital after realized they were injured.

Another vehicle parked on Second Avenue North was also damaged in the crossfire. A witness in that vehicle told police they saw two cars shooting at each other, one of them "a large SUV with distinctive tires... last seen headed west on 94."

The Saturday morning shootout happened around this intersection.

"Officers located this vehicle within minutes of the shots-fired reports," the criminal complaint continues.

Inside were Minneapolis residents Michael Rolack Jr., 33, and Tylynne Wilson, 31, along with Columbia Heights resident Loretha Peoples, 22. Rolack Jr. was driving.

A stolen handgun with an empty magazine was found in the SUV's center console, and a discharged casing was found by Wilson's foot in the front passenger area. A bullet strike was later found on the vehicle's hood.

Yesterday, Rolack Jr. was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, one count of drive-by shooting, one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm, and one count of theft. Wilson was charged with theft, second-degree riot, and felon in possession, and Peoples was charged with second-degree riot.

Police haven't yet located second vehicle involved in the shootout or the passengers inside of it.

"The investigation is ongoing," the criminal complaint says.
