Today is one of the most Minnesota weather days ever

Northwest Minnesota is currently in the grips of Winter Storm Xenia, as indicated by the blustery photo at the top of this post, taken just west of the border in North Dakota around 2 p.m. Yet southern Minnesota is currently enjoying 70 degree temperatures under partly sunny skies.

In fact, the temperature gap between those two parts of the state is 56 degrees.

In other words, one part of the state is suitable for snowmobiling and cross-country skiing, while the other is comfortable for those wanting to sunbathe on their porch. Minnesota weather: There's rarely a dull moment, even if most of the excitement of late has been unpleasant.
