Apple Valley, Minnetonka are Twin Cities hotbeds for cheating spouses

Ashley Madison has 26 million users and expects to bring in more than $120 million this year.
The suburbs are where most of the Twin Cities' wannabe cheaters live, according to new information released by Ashley Madison, which is known perhaps as the world's leading hookup site for wayward spouses.

According to the site's "membership per capita" numbers, 9.1 percent of the Twin Cities' Ashley Madison accounts belong to Apple Valley residents, which is the highest percentage in the metro. Minnetonka clocks in at second with 8.8 percent.

The suburbs, in fact, occupy the top eight spots on the list. Here's three through eight:

3. Eagan (8.4 percent)
4. Woodbury (8.3 percent)
5. Maplewood (7.9 percent)
6. Orono (7.7 percent)
7. St. Louis Park (7.2 percent)
8. Eden Prairie (7.1 percent)

Urban locales finally appear on the list in the last two spots, with St. Paul's Macalester-Groveland at ninth (6.8 percent) and Minneapolis's classy Linden Hills neighborhood rounding things out (6.6 percent).

This is the first time Ashley Madison released local rankings of this sort since the summer of 2012. Falling off the adulterous list since then are Coon Rapids (number three in cheaters back then), Plymouth (fourth in 2012), downtown Minneapolis (sixth), and Wayzata (seventh).

Ashley Madison released these three local tidbits along with the latest numbers:
-- 42 percent of wannabe philanderers in the Twin Cities are female (average age 36)
-- Adulterers living in Apple Valley have the most children on average
-- St. Louis Park members in have the most affair partners
In a statement, Noel Biderman, Ashley Madison's founder and CEO, says that like many other things in life, those trying to figure out why cheaters live where they do should follow the money.

"The proclivity to cheat often goes hand in hand with opportunity," Biderman says. "Those with discretionary income and freedom to travel are even more likely to stray."

So apparently more money really can lead to more problems, at least for those who choose to tie the knot.

Half of these commentators think that Ashley is a person. SMH This website has been around for 15 years people. Get your heads out of the sand.

It should be a semicolon. Combining 2 independent sentences.

Sad...I love my wife and I know she loves me...that's why we're married ...don't get married if your going to be unfaithful

Consider the source... City Pages! Sensationalism does not equal journalism.

The fact that our country is going to hell in a hand basket is precisely why this is there. No one takes any responsibility for their actions and the mentality is me, me, me. It's a sad shame. God help us all.

Why are you advertising such a sleezy and sinful site that encourages cheating and promiscuity?

The problem isn't the billboard, the advertising, nor the fact this website exists. The problem is that there's actually a demand for this -- that people will actually sign up on a website to lie and cheat on their spouse. Maybe they should tell their spouse they aren't satisfied. Talk honestly and openly? Just a thought. In any case, I just hope terrible people who use this service end up together so I never end up with one of them.

I don't have a spouse, so I don't have to cheat, so I can stay home and read and drink beer. Win-Win.

I don't hate freedom of speech, and I never said I was right. Just because it offends me doesn't make me right... But, that doesn't mean we should liberally promote promiscuity and other vulgar acts against a sacred and legally binding vow. Its a contract, and adultery breaks that contract, destroys trust and ruins many families. Its not something I think should be on a billboard. But, that's just my opinion.

Life is short, why not live it respecting your spouse and family. That site is disgusting.

I would like to see this sign burned to the ground. No, I'm not threatening to do so myself, but I would enjoy it if someone else did...

Yes, to each their own but what are we soliciting here, cuz I'm pretty sure its adultery And that in my opinion does not belong on a billboard.

Obviously, people don't have morals anymore. That this billboard was even allowed disgusts me!

This is sickening and that is putting it lightly. Only in countries like ours do we praise, accept and market these disgraceful things. You have women in this post saying "good for her...as long as it doesn't affect my life" but let me tell you it affects your life and every female life. Men don't respect women and families like they used too because of females in this country being so readily available; young females peer pressured into having sex with boys and with men; for popularity, for cheap dates, for weed, spirits and for friends; women lucky to get married are willing to break their vows and ruin the stability in their children's lives for a few minutes of pleasure with a man who only sees her as a walking piece of ass. Women in other countries are dying, being murdered by their men and communities so they don't become sluts and undeserving like these women using this service or glorified whores like Kardashian who is praised by women and the media for sharing the most intimate thing men and women have with each other. And women question where the gentlemen have gone well it seems they may be in the neighbors pu$$y.

Maybe you should read the Constitution sometime - especially the part about freedom of speech.

just need to pop in that men respecting families and women like they "used" probably would and should not be at the top of your list or any others........that would mean that you could no longer vote, dress in a fashion you enjoy, work in a safe environment, be paid equally, allowed into organizations, social clubs, or generally have an opinion that would be seriously considered, but we will open the door for you, take your chair out, cover the bill, and afterwards beat you, demean you, take any liberties a man would please, and oh yeah we haven't even got to the part if you happen to be any other race than caucasion, so lets seriously put to bed all this bullshit about "how better things used to be....".  "It" was not better, the only thing better back in the last bit was a Bull American economy, with plenty of jobs, and people willing to work.
