Comment of the Day: Dog biscuits, not guns

Dog-biscuit.jpg
Our report about yet another family dog being gunned down by police prompted a lot of discussion, most of it critical of law enforcement's "shoot first, ask questions later" mentality.

But as regular reader ChazDanger points out, there's a more peaceful, tried-and-true way for police officers to deal with dogs.

Here's the exchange that prompted his comment:

They are dogs people. We need to go back to putting humans before animals.

Correct spelling and grammar isn't rocket science, either.

Stop the cop hating. They're doing their jobs.

Also, postal workers carry dog biscuits because they have time while approaching a home to evaluate what to use to calm a dog and do not have to make split second decisions about how to deal with threats. They use mace in emergencies because they don't carry firearms. If police always used mace as a first resort, they probably wouldn't be very effective in many life threatening situations.

Anthony Christensen "Shoot my dog expect return fire." Let me know how that works out.

They did have a fence. Said fence was broken by the car thief the cops were chasing.

I believe original story was they did have a fence - the suspect either opened or broke gate/latch

Tie your dog up or put a fence up.... 120lb dog is not a small dog. The officers attention isn't focused on a big dog coming his way it's about the suspect they are after.

Thank you thank you!  Is it weird that my profile is a dog with a bandana?

@ChazDanger No. It's completely normal for a dude with the handle "ChazDanger" to profess his love for his pug by dressing it up in doll clothes and posting a pic of it for the world to see. With that mentality, it's also easy to see he possesses a greater understanding of the world and everything he says should be given extra credence because he said it.
