Take note, people: The location of Thursday's medical cannabis task force meeting has changed.

Do not go to the Orville Freeman building in St. Paul. Instead, go here:
Room 10 of the State Office Building, 100 Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Scott Smith, a spokesman for the health department, says "the move made sense logistically and thematically." There's no check-in required in the new room. Plus the task force is a legislative entity, and the building is a legislative meeting space.

Thursday is intended mostly as a meet-and-greet for the task force members who will be tasked with evaluating the medical cannabis program -- a mix of cops and doctors and community members, most of whom are squeamish about pot.

An announcement by the Minnesota Department of Health says the "initial meeting will focus on familiarizing the task force members with each other as well as their duties as outlined in the legislation."

Another upcoming meeting, for prospective cannabis manufacturers, is still set for the same time/place:
Friday, Aug. 8, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Skjegstad Room in the Minnesota Department of Revenue building, 600 Robert Street North, St. Paul.
RSVP with Jeffrey Smith, an organizer, by Aug. 1.

Cheap comments. If we had a medical liquor (and yes we had medical liquor during prohibition) control board meeting would you make jokes about drunks?

Better schedule it at least an hour before it actually starts.
