This morning's shooting left this North Side house with bloodstains in the backyard.
:::: UPDATE :::: Mpls police release photo of "persons of interest" in North Side triple shooting

In the wake of another outburst of deadly gun violence in Minneapolis over the 4th of July weekend, Mayor Betsy Hodges asked people to "pray [for] all of those affected by these tragedies." Police Chief Janeé Harteau, meanwhile, "urge[d] people to put their guns down and find another way to resolve personal conflicts."

But at least one person was unaffected by those pleas, as early this morning a triple shooting occurred at 3551 Fremont Ave. N.

As Minneapolis Police Department spokesman John Elder tells us, "At around 1:30 this morning, police responded to the area of 36th and Fremont North on reports of shots fired."

"En route, the report was updated to a shooting," Elder continues. "Police arrived, found three adult females who had been the victims of gunshot wounds. All three were transported to North Memorial Hospital via ambulance with serious but non-life threatening injuries."

Elder says the women "possibly appeared to be outside at the time of the shooting, but we're following up with witnesses and leads developed at the scene."

No suspects are currently in custody, but police are "operating under the assumption at this time that this was not a random act," Elder says, adding that it's too early to know whether this shooting is related to any of the other recent ones in north Minneapolis.

North Minneapolis people need to stand up to the filth in their community, and the first step is supporting local government and policy in identifying criminals. The second is to stand up and not embrace the culture of people acting like thugs and embracing thug life.

It’s time to get tough on thugs. It’s time for north Minneapolis and the communities to clearly state, that thug street culture is not acceptable.I don’t see them doing that, in which case I don’t see why I should help them.I’d rather my tax dollars go to those who want to improve and make a difference.

I have no idea about why republican idiots are blaming Obama for this. This is caused by the fact that people are utter stupid. Babies, raising babies, in poverty, no education, no structure, no community. I just don't know why the media focuses on black crime, maybe it doesn't. All skewed views aside, it still remains that the community is not holding its local residents accountable for the problems they are causing.

The promotion and glamorization of crime, thugs, gangs, and the acceptance that one can dress like a thug, is prevalent.

I’m often confused by the so called anti-gun zealots. Why the question is never asked in every gun crime, “Where did the perpetrator get the gun?”.It would help make the stupid people realize that gun control needs to occur at either the manufactures or those who peddle black market weapons. If you have a gun without a license, why not charge them with attempted “manslaughter or murder”, or a charge that carries the same penalty.

I answered it in another thread. Here it is again: I lIVE in N Minneapolis, for a start. I worked for MPS for sixteen years, working with many kids from the northside. I know people in the neighborhood. I'm involved with kids in my neighborhood. I have been to their houses, helped them out when they needed food, a car rides, a little cash, etc. Hang out with them and acknowledge them as human beings not as "scum", like you do. Instead of assholes like you, who make your living in the city, then drive out to redneckville and spit on people who live here, safe from your computer.

So, if they put down the guns, will the cops actually response to calls?

That neighborhood is still trying to recover from the tornado. It's devastating. The poverty is horrible. I know that house. . .

Stephen, you have somehow managed to make 2 useless comments in a single string of comments about your smug detest of useless comments. I fear you have possibly created a horrible unending loop that we may all never escape from...

Those should simply be condemned and torn down - if nobody will fix them, remove them and sell the lots to someone who will develop a nice home there - or to habitat for humanity.

Wait, your proposal to shootings and alcoholism is giving people low interest loans or free money?

It has more to do with a variety of factors. Many of which will not be solved with this type of banter. Wake up people & understand that there is a bigger agenda then our media shares...

and now this kind of thing is happening way too often in my neighborhood, the lower east side of Saint Paul. I agree it has so much to do with housing, availability of jobs, poverty, etc.

So Stephen Biondo you have a lot to say about everything and everybody, you think these are useless comments, you have yet to come up with anything other than calling me a dickhead. And no, not Circle Pines, I moved further into the country to get away from the bullshit and the scum of North.. So again, whats your sage advice on the situation? I don't need to be part of the solution either, I'm not dumb enough to live there in the first place, I dont need to be.

Living in D.C. where guns are illegal. I conceal carry a very small gun in a shoulder holster that is almost undetectable. Never been caught but you know what they say, "better to be tried by 12 than carried by six."

I grew up in white in D.C. so don't try to tell me about racism. You know why I've never been messed with? Because on many occasions, I've flashed the handle of my handgun. They walk away most every time. I've only had to draw down on a few of the people who make life interesting in D.C. And only one who didn't back down and that was because he was on crack. I actually thought I'd have to shoot him but a friend of his pulled him back off me.

Legal citizens with guns are responsible for saving MANY lives. Look at all the people killed with illegal guns such as in Chicago over the 4th of July weekend. 82 people shot! THAT would NOT stop with taking guns away.

If you don't like it, either move to another country or try to take my guns away and we'll have us a nice revolution. Hint: we have the guns and ALL the military's on our side.

The only way you could take away guns in America is for the Obomber (Libya, more drone kills than even Bush) to invite the Russians in and unite them with his internal Cheka police the Dept. of Homeland Insanity, along with the illegals and gangs that they've bought millions of rounds for, and well, there ya go.

If that happens, you won't survive either.

Robots armed with weapons patrolling the streets would solve this problem.

And just because there are nice houses along the robinsdale border doesn't mean that there isn't poverty mere blocks away. There are still houses that haven't been fixed after the tornadoes what? 3? 4 years ago?

Gangs are about family, and feeling like you belong to something. They usually fill the role of an absentee parent or help keep you protected from being a victim at first. Its a hard cycle to break when you need something or someone to protect you when you grew up in a bad neighborhood.

I'm doing things to make little differences. What I CAN do. What are YOU doing? Besides making assumptions about a person you know nothing about??

But it is not a North Side problem ahe says...really? All keeps happening on the North Side1

Stephen Biondo

Generalizations and useless criticism like yours is part of the problem. That was my point. If it is such a "shithole" why don't you work somewhere else. Critical dickheads like you, are part of the problem. You obviously don't have any idea what you are talking about. Drive in from your nice neighborhood (is that "Circle Pines"?) and generalize about an entire community. There are people who purposefully live here and are trying to be part of the solution, unlike you.

Choice is for people who can afford it. When you can't, you end up in the shittiest areas. And the moniker of 'Murderapolis' was coined in the mid-90's when the murder rate hovered around 100. Data from 2012 says we had 10 murders that year, so you can let that one go.

Stephen, you make a lot of assumptions. I work at a homeless shelter in D.C. and I'm as conservative as you get. I also conceal carry.

What is it about Minneapolis? Is it something in the water that makes people so dumb? Liberalism is a mental disorder.
