Comment of the Day: Taking responsibility for Hidden Beach's issues

A quiet evening at Hidden Beach.
In response to the news that the Kenwood neighborhood group is considering sending a resolution to the Park Board calling for the temporary closure of Hidden Beach, many readers put the Minneapolis Police Department on blast with comments of this sort:

But that blame is misplaced. Larry Moran, chairman of the Kenwood board, tells us the resolution his neighborhood board is considering is largely a response to bad behavior by beach visitors, including property damage and drunk driving.

It's for that reason that Devon Alexander wins today's Comment of the Day for this contribution:

Sometimes, as Alexander points out, diagnosing a problem isn't as simple as blaming it on the police.

Close it, fine by me. Its pretty obvious that most of the people who go there are too childish to understand how to be civil.

the police are evil!! cut their funding asap!! they should be broke like the rest of us!!! they never solve any crime!if anything they start it!! POLICE SHOULD ONLY SERVE AND PROTECT NOT SCARE AND PROVOKE!!! IF PEOPLE WANT TO RELAX ON A LAKE IN THE SUMMER IN GOSH DARN MINNESOTA THEY SHOULD HAVE THE FREEDOM TO DO SO WITHOUT SOME IDIOT IN A UNIFORM TELLING THEM WHAT TO DO. DOWN WITH THE POLICE!!!!

Perhaps us white folks should take up the knock out game for a hobby.

Talk about bad behavior, the residents of the Kenwood area use up more resources, pollute more, and do little or none of the work it takes to maintain a neighborhood like that. Not only that but then they complain about anything and everything that can be.

Hello park board, property damage and drunk driving are crimes that aren't being committed at the beach.

is there some way we can have a comment of the day about the comment of the day 'story'? that would be fantastic.

what the fuck are you talking about? do you live in kenwood? know anyone there? what do you know about maintaining a neighborhood? everyone thinks this is about a few people drinking or smoking, or not liking how someone looks. it's not. it's about reckless driving, breaking and entering, theft, and violence. just ask the cop who got slugged.

@CPsupercontent Look -- if you don't like it, don't click it. "Comment of the Day" posts couldn't be labeled more clearly. I know trolling is fun but c'mon now...
