Minneapolis one of the most beard-friendly cities, study says

Minneapolis is one of the most inviting cities in the county for beardos, according to a study put together by the Wahl Clipper Corporation.

The study, put together in partnership with the Opinion Research Corporation, relied on an "in-depth analysis of the online universe over the past two years for beard and mustache positivity. Conversations and searches surrounding facial hair were measured, and cities were ranked based on overall interest and positive sentiment."

That sounds like a pretty solid methodology, but aspects of it were pretty fuzzy (pardon the pun). For instance:
While general popularity of facial hair helped dictate the results of the study, notable facial-hair-related events contributed to the rankings. In Boston it was the fanfare surrounding the city's pro baseball team sporting beards on their way to glory in 2013. Similarly, in Chicago, the city's pro hockey team won it all in beardly fashion last year, helping it earn the number four most facial-hair-friendly city in America.
In other words, with longtime facial hair enthusiast Kevin Love on his way out of town, prepare for Minneapolis to fall down the list next year. That doesn't seem quite right, does it?

In any event, here's the full top 20 rankings:
1. Boston
2. Los Angeles
3. Miami
4. Chicago
5. Salt Lake City
6. Minneapolis (It's unclear whether St. Paul is included in "Minneapolis")
7. Austin, Texas
8. Seattle
9. Denver
10. Nashville, Tenn.
11. Dallas
12. San Diego
13. Philadelphia
14. Houston
15. Detroit
16. New York
17. Indianapolis
18. Atlanta
19. Washington, D.C.
20. Pittsburgh
Combine this with all the studies showing how gay-friendly the Twin Cities are, and one conclusion is inescapable -- there is no better city for bears than Minneapolis!

While I really enjoy men with beards, too many in our lovely city are making beards look horrible. It's like they think going full beard is license to be lazy and not maintain or groom it. My eyes are getting assaulted every day by these lazy men! Buck up men, and take care of it so it resembles something more than face pubes, a la THIS GUY: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/203928689351654004/
