Comment of the Day: The Minnesota Cubs?

About the only thing that doesn't stink about the Twins these days is Target Field.
Keith Olbermann put the Twins marketing team on blast for comparing the on-field product to a luxury car when it's really more akin to a broken-down beater.

That got Dave Overlund thinking about another MLB team that loses a lot, but at least does so inside a nice ballpark.

Sure, the Twins' most recent World Series victory came 83 years after the Cubs won one all the way back in 1908, but still, with the team cruising to its fourth consecutive losing season and showing little inclination in recent years to raise payroll or shake up the management and front office, there's definitely something to Overlund's comparison.

How can you compare a team to a luxury car that's on the verge of losing 90 games four years in a row.

I lived in Chicago for 12 years, and went to Wrigley countless times. It is a nice ballpark. It's historic, cozy, and fun. BUT, it's no Target Field! I would rather see a game at Target. But, you really can't compare because they're two completely different experiences. I will say, however, that boasting about fervently supporting decades of losing is not particularly brlliant.

Comparing Target Field to Wrigley is ludicrous. One is a baseball monument that has survived decades of losing and STILL draws loyalty. The other is a limestone, average at best ballpark that will never capture magic because There is absolutely NOTHING magical about it . Target field will never be known as anything but mediocre.

Those first statements are ridiculous. They have a decent selection of beer (drinking a 2 hearted now) & thse seats are as open as you'll find. Go to Wrigley, then complain...hell, the dome sucked for room...

@pjetsen well of course that's what they're trying now, they stink. That would change when the talent level changes

Seats are too close together. Nice place otherwise

Then I think we need to get more craft beer & better food at Target Field.
