Jared Allen would've tied sack record if Brett Favre didn't take a dive [VIDEO]

Brett Favre takes a dive for his buddy, Michael Strahan.
Jared Allen finished just short of beating Michael Strahen's single season sack record this weekend, and ties the real record for sacks unassisted by quarterbacks.

If Vikings fans are looking for another reason to hate Brett Favre, consider this: He took a dive for his friend Michael Strahan in order to give him the sack record that eluded Jared Allen's grasp. With the phantom sack, Strahan reached 22.5 sacks, beating the record of 22 set in 1984 by Mike Gastineau with the New York Jets.

This year, Jared Allen had 22 sacks, setting a Vikings team record but falling 1/2 sack short of Strahan's bogus record.

Brett Favre unretiring to play for Eagles considered unlikely

Favre is still retired, as of this moment. Check back in a few minutes.
Brett Favre will probably not unretire again to play for the Philadelphia Eagles, according to sources close to the team.

Favre's decision not to come back, or the Eagles' decision not to take him, would prevent the ultimate media explosion of the NFL's penis picture-taker joining up with its dog fighter, Mike Vick.

The Favre rumors started first with a Philadelphia radio host who said the Eagles were interested. Without confirmation from either party, Vick himself took the rumors seriously enough to tweet that he'd be happy to play with the former Vikings/Jets/Packers quarterback.

Now Vick's tweet, like the rumor of Favre playing for the Eagles, has disappeared. But with the NFL lockout at an end, and teams able to contact players again, expect to hear more and more as the Favre rumor mill begins churning yet again.

Sterger wants the sexts back.
For months we've been waiting for Jenn Sterger to file a lawsuit in the wake of the Brett Favre sexting scandal, and now she has. But in another strange turn to an already bizarre story, she's suing her manager, Phil Reese, and not the retired Vikings QB with itchy cell phone thumbs.

Reese is alleged to be holding onto Favre's sexts and won't give them back, plotting to use them for a book on the scandal -- after she and Reese created a partnership to exploit Favre's misdeeds in a book together.

The partnership's name? "A Game of Inches."
