Howard Stern attacks Michele Bachmann over Anoka-Hennepin suicides [AUDIO]

Howard Stern goes after Michele Bachmann and other homophobes.
Howard Stern lit into Michele Bachmann on his Sirius satellite radio show in the wake of the Rolling Stone article on the spate of teen suicides in the Anoka-Hennepin school district.

"The amazing thing to me--I'm watching these debates, the Republican debates--this Michele Bachmann and Rick Santorum, they are the two worst people on the planet," Stern told his listeners. "They get up wherever they can and they still feel comfortable getting up in front of an audience in 2012 and fucking saying shit about gays."

Michele Bachmann: "I was the perfect candidate"

Thumbnail image for bachmanncoverhiresjpg.jpg
Bachmann was so perfect that she apparently can't fathom endorsing another GOPer.
Michele Bachmann's once-promising bid for the GOP presidential nomination may have gone up in a ball of flames, but Our Favorite Congresswoman apparently doesn't believe she's at all responsible for the meltdown. In fact, she's perfect.

Over the weekend, Bachmann appeared on Bloomberg Television's "Political Capital with Al Hunt." Hunt grilled her, to no avail, about which of the remaining GOPers she will endorse for the presidency.

But the interesting part of the interview occurred when Hunt asked her "Who is the more conservative of these four candidates left?"

Michele Bachmann running for reelection this November

Thumbnail image for bachmanncoverhiresjpg.jpg
After all, what would an election cycle be without Michele?
Just a day after new polling indicated she's less popular in Minnesota than ever, Michele Bachmann announced she will seek a fourth term in the U.S. House this November.

The Public Policy Polling poll showed that she has a 34/57 favorable/unfavorable split with Minnesota voters, and only 37 percent of Minnesotans think she should seek reelection.

For her sake, she better hope a good chunk of that 37 percent live in the 6th congressional district.

New poll: Bachmann, Pawlenty unpopular with Minnesotans

pawlentyhoping.jpg
Pawlenty better hope Minnesotans change their minds about him if he ever hopes to hold elected office again.
The ill-fated presidential campaigns of Michele Bachmann and Tim Pawlenty cost them the support of Minnesotans.

That's the conclusion that emerges from recent polling conducted by Public Policy Polling, a respected polling firm based in Raleigh.

Sometimes, familiarity really does breed contempt. Especially when the folks you're getting familiar with are ambition-driven political chameleons and/or right-wing nut jobs.

Michele Bachmann delivers anti-abortion message to thousands in St. Paul

Bachmann: No longer a presidential candidate, but still anti-abortion.
She's baaaack!

Nearly three weeks after dropping out of the presidential race, Michele Bachmann made her first public appearance since her campaign went the way of the Costa Concordia, delivering a message aimed at all women who believe they have a right to control what happens inside their bodies.

During yesterday's annual Minnesota Citizens Concerned for Life's March for Life at the Capitol, Bachmann told thousands of people that "next year we will gather in a day of celebration when we have finally ended abortion in this all important election."

Bachmann may face tough reelection battle

Bachmann2011.jpg
Bachmann: From presidential front-runner to out of Congress in 14 months? It could happen.
Though it won't be for the office she was hoping for, Michele Bachmann may still face a tough election fight this November.

Sometime between now and early June, Bachmann must decide whether to seek reelection to the House of Representatives. Her decision is complicated by the fact that she probably won't know what congressional district she's living in until a panel of judges issues redistricting maps late next month.

The DFL's redistricting plan would place Bachmann's Stillwater residence in the 4th congressional district, setting up what would be a tough election battle with longtime St. Paul representative Betty McCollum.

Was Michele Bachmann treated differently because she's batshit crazy? [VIDEO]

Covers like this show how the media treats crazy candidates differently than the sane.
Was Michele Bachmann treated differently from other candidates because she's batshit crazy? That's the provocative question asked in a video by The Onion today.

Michele Bachmann was the only woman in the race for the GOP presidential nomination, as well as the only lunatic, which has led some to question whether sexism or prejudice against the mentally ill may have played a role in the short-shrift she was given by the media.

Michele Bachmann Dance: Coming to a hip-hop club near you [VIDEO]

bachmanndance.JPG
Do the Bachmann Dance!
Just because Michele Bachmann has dropped out of the GOP presidential race doesn't mean we're done making fun of her. Oh no, not by a long shot, especially now that video has surfaced of her dancing.

The rhythmless dancing is bad enough, but stay tuned till the end to watch Bachmann ironically addressing people as "soul sister" and "soul brother." It brings to mind the time when she put on her best Ebonics to tell Michael Steele, "You be da man!"

It appears that Bachmann waited until she was out of the race to reveal her deepest, darkest secret: She really wants to be black.

Easter Egg Hunt: Find the journalists hidden on this week's City Pages cover

Thumbnail image for ken avidor.jpg
Ken Avidor snuck a few surprises in his illustrations for this week's Bachmann cover story.
This week's cover story, "The Fall of Michele Bachmann," features illustrations by local artist and author Ken Avidor, who also chronicled the Tom Petters trial for City Pages through comic strips a couple years ago.

As usual with Avidor, there's more than first meets the eye to his Bachmann art.

Hidden behind Michele and Marcus, amid the masses of drooling Bachmannites and a hatchet-wielding Ed Rollins, Avidor slipped in a few other familiar faces from the campaign trail.

Here's the story's main artwork:
