We get plaudits for our high percentage of bachelors degrees and voter participation.
But R.T. Rybak isn't going to let us rest on our laurels:
More >>"Knowing that we might be the best or one of the best on these key measures shouldn't stop us from striving to do better," says Minneapolis Mayor R.T. Rybak.
"PRINCE on a first-class flight from Minneapolis to La Guardia, reading Elle magazine, carrying a gold- and diamond-encrusted walking stick and wearing flip-flops with sparkly silver socks."Where can we find more men like this?

Once again, the epic Senate recount dominated the news this week despite no real excitement. You should still know the play-by-play so we've got it.

More >>Prince is really not having a good week. Yesterday we reported about his comments against homosexuality in a New Yorker piece. His GLBT fans got pretty pissed off and sources close to Prince said he was misquoted.
Today, he is dealing with a lawsuit from the creator of his 3121 perfume released alongside that album. The company claims he broke the contract by not helping to market the product.
More >>We are so fascinated with Prince and his weird ways. His home decor, his outfits and his religious beliefs all make him more intriguing than any other Minnesotan we can write about. Picture this: Prince in yoga pants and a big sweater, wearing platform flip-flops over white socks. His TV has bearded men playing flutes and he is sipping carrot soup. Can you imagine a better man?

More >>Totally busted.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Gregory Alarcon issued the judgment on Wednesday after conducting a brief trial last month that included testimony from the video editor, Ian C. Lewis.
Lewis asked for $1 million in the lawsuit filed in Oct. 2007.
The best part of all of this? Prince was not represented during the trial.
This is small change for our favorite locally-grown musician. He's estimated to be worth $250 million.
