Vice President Cheney echoed the president's comments. Cheney, speaking at a fund-raiser for a congressional candidate in Grand Island, Neb., called the leaks to the newspapers and the subsequent stories very damaging. The ability to intercept al-Qaida communications and to track their sources of financing are essential if were going to successfully prosecute the global war on terror.
What is doubly disturbing for me is, not only have they gone forward with these stories but they've been rewarded for it, for example in the case of the terrorists surveillance program by being awarded the Pulitzer Prize for outstanding journalism. I think that is a disgrace, Cheney said.
Well, Dick Cheney should know a disgrace when he sees one. They fall around him like over ripened fruit. Lets seewhere should I begin? How about the war in Iraq?
The administration uses as a pretext to start a war, that Iraq is a growing threat to our country having demonstrated that it has in its possession an arsenal of weapons that could be used against us and our allies. After the wars major combat efforts have ended we learn that no such weapons existed. Worse still there is a growing body of evidence that not only was the administration aware that the case for war was being embellished, but they were taking covert steps to stifle anyone who dared disagree with them.
Did I mention the 2,500 plus U.S. service personnel dead in Iraq? Thats dead, as in no longer livingforever!
Lets go even further back. August of 2001. While on his annual month long vacation, the president is handed a secret briefing paper that should have risen hackles the size of pretzels on the back of his well-tanned neck. It seems some guy named Bin Laudden is determined to attack the United States inside its own boarders. Humm! Well not to let anything interfere with the afternoon naptime, The Commander in Chief gives it about as much of his attention as the briefing he received about the impending danger posed to the levy system of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina. In short, he dropped it and went on to more important endeavors, fundraisers, pushing tax cuts for the rich and catching up on his reading. Yes, My Pet Goat must have been a real page-turner.
Coming from an administration that routinely over reaches its constitutional authority ( check todays Supreme Court decision on detainees in Guitmo) , that spys on its own citizens, that ignores the dangers that confront this nation, both foreign and domestic, that holds indefinitely without due process of law, enemy combatants in third world hell holes and subjects them to tourchers that we would never tolerate on our own soldiers, that has crawled literally in bed with the oil and gas industry that is trying to enslave us, that tried unsuccessfully to out- source the security of our ports to the same country that spawned some of the very terrorists who slaughtered 3,000 Americans on 9-11, Im inclined not to take seriously the self aggrandizing swill being sloshed by Dick Cheney concerning the facts published by The New York Times.
Its clear that one mans disgraceful act is another mans exercise of the first amendment right to freedom of expression and freedom of the press. In the case of the President and Vice President, I know which view they associate themselves with.
The Bush administration should install a fact check button on the mouth of whom ever is in charge in the White House these days.
Talk about disgraceful.

Stunning Movie! Excellent Poster!! Keep it UP!
I love political satire. Maybe someone could do one called Brokedick Mountain starring Barney Frank.
I'd rather have a President that sleeps around than one that takes from the poor and gives to the rich any day of the week. Too bad that darn two-term limit is in place or Clinton would still be President.
-Brandon Harwell, 7-year registered Republican, switching to Democrat this year after getting personally screwed over by the government
Got referred here by CNN. I'm a right-wing nutjob but I do know a good joke when I see one. Well done!
And in that spirit of cross-platform cameraderie, here's one of my favorite anti-Bush jokes, told by some random rock star: "With a Bush, Dick, and Colin in the White House, you know that *someone* is gonna get screwed."
Hmm somehow I think comparing someone who received an illicit blowjob to some who's f*cking the whole country to be disengenuous to say the least.
Isn't it great to be a Democratic. I mean, they NEVER do anything wrong, are ALWAYS on the up and up, have fine upstanding morals and above all are never caught in any scandals. . .. well, I guess that depends on what your definition of "is", is.
great thoughts--love it
Fine piece of satire.
Picture worth a thou$ands? words.
Reality, can the pols even recognise it?
this is a purely Republican scandal. no Democrats took any money from Abramoff, despite hacks who try to twist the meaning of what an illegal "kickback" is.
Repeating, again and again. There are and will be no Democrats found to be implicated in accepting money from Abramoff or directed to them from Abramoff. None, zero, nada, zilch. Not one penny came from Abramoff to Democrats.
Lazy or biased reporting does not change the facts. Check it out for yourself, and quit relying on WRONG information. You can hold whatever opinion you wish, but you are not entitled to change facts.
Love it!!
Looks like a dangerous relationship to me. We had better amend the constitution to make sure this kind of "love" doesn't destroy our country! (it would be OK if they stayed in the woods and screwed each other but they want to screw us all!)
"The GOP now craves such bipartisan cover in the Jack Abramoff scandal. Republicans trumpet every Democratic connection to Abramoff in the hope that something resonates. Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D., Nev.), took more than $60,000 from Abramoff clients! North Dakota Democratic Sen. Byron Dorgan used Abramoff's skybox! It is true that any Washington influence peddler is going to spread cash and favors as widely as possible, and 210 members of Congress have received Abramoff-connected dollars. But this is, in its essence, a Republican scandal, and any attempt to portray it otherwise is a misdirection."

I love all the liberals jumping on Delay and Abramoff think the Dems are totally clean on this. Reid is implicated as well ya know...
So good! Send this one to everyone you know!
Politics sure makes for Strange Bedfellows.
I LOVE IT! This "movie poster" really made my day, and it's such a clever satirical work. BRAVO!
Tommy and Jackie sittin' in a tree, k-i-s-s-i-n-g....
Coming to a prison near you. The gripping tale of politicians and lobbyists caught up in bribery, graft and corruption. They started in Washington and ended up in jail.
Starring Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff:
BAREBACK MOUNTIN'
-GSD
This is some outstanding photoshop work. Very well done.
Now that's what I call a real "Inside the Beltway" Drama!
This flick should be a hit, but we won't know its real returns until early November.
I created this and uploaded it on December 29, as the time stamp can attest. The Daily Show may have had the same idea. Anyone else see it on TDS?
I saw this on the Daily Show last week. Is that the original source? I thought it was.
I think the question is: "Who do you think is the power bottom?"
Brilliant! Too bad it will be lost on most of the population of the state of ultra-conservatism (Utah).
Great stuff - Keep it up.
I worked up my version a while back. I hope it's sufficiently diusturbing. This poster is just really useful for political satire, evidently.
I think Charles Grodin would make a great Abramoff!
Kickback mountain would have been better if you put ANWAR behind them...with oil rigs.
two pols headed for the bush. Laughed out loud.
Thanks Josh
And so, "Ride him cowboy" gets morphed into:
"Attach a rider for him cowboy."
Satire is a powerful force....send the URL to everyone you know.
Paron me, but I object to this blatant Bush-bashing by the anti-christian liberal element who want nothing more than to see our society destroyed by terrorists, and pagans, and homosexuals and....oh who am I kidding, Jack & Ennis were HOT HOT HOT!!!
Tom Delay and Jack Abramoff are gay?
Have we figured out which one is the top yet?
You don't go up there to fish....
jack...i wish i knew how to quit you
Delay looks like he's about to get some of his own medicine. Right in the ass.
Thanks to Josh Marshall at Talkingpointsmemo.com for linking this, otherwise I'd never been privileged enough to see it way out here in Sacramento
I'm watching the sclialito hearings and things a looking grim. This serves a laughter in a time of judicial peril.
Aces!! Without a doubt this surpasses any Daily Show or Saturday Night Live material.
I wonder if anyone will have the guts to sneak it into the movie ads in the New York Times.
That Abramoffukkah is a lipless wonder, ain't he? Lipless & characterless.
Excellent! Try blaming this one on Michael Moore!
This is TWO thumbs up and Two Big Toes backing them up. This is FUNNY-FUNNY-FUNNY and probably true also. Thanks for the memories.
F-ing brilliant. I love it!
Hat tip on the picture. Its a great peace and hillarious too. I like it! *thumbs up*
sweet. LOL
Also, love the way the "stars'" names fall into that lovely singsong pattern--it's like a sleazy little poem.
One of the best pieces of political art I've ever seen. Hope it gets the wide coverage it deserves--I'm doing my part!
I laughed like hell. This is brilliant. Thanks for making my day.

wicked funny. I just saw that picture of Abramoff leaving court with the black fedora...
Jack looks even better in a Stetson than the shrunken Fedora...
Excellent work! Top notch lampoonery!!
Hah, hysterical.
Are Michael 'Scamlon' and Bob 'Toupee' back there in the woods, going at it?
It looks like someone's been having fun with Photoshop! I wonder what the first-week box office would be on this movie? Sounds like a sure-fire hit to me!
