Local fashion designer and Project Runway castoff Christopher Straub had a whirlwind day last Sunday when he debuted his sky-inspired line at the St. Paul Hotel just minutes after being struck on the head by a falling spotlight at rehearsal. Straub took one for the team and slapped a bandage on the wound, as the show must go on.

"I got some cuts on my head, face, and arm," Straub told The Dressing Room, a positive attitude shining through as he added: "I didn't take it as an omen, just as a good story to tell."

After the show, he was approached by none other than America's first supermodel (so she says) and reality star, Janice Dickinson.

"Janice was in town for a model casting with Privileged Model Management, a local agency that provided the models for the show," Straub explained. "Janice said she didn't know what to expect but was amazed by the designs and couldn't believe that pieces like this could come out of Minnesota."

Believe it! Click here for a lookbook of Straub's designs from the show.
