This week in Freeloader Friday we have a '90s-themed dance party, a day-long skateboarding festival, World Cup bars, and a free blues fest.

Day Of The Familia 5

Come visit the Uptown skate shop and the Oakdale Skate Park for a day-long party featuring crazy stunt demos and skating fans starting at 1 p.m. At 10 p.m. head on over to the Red Stag for a 21+ party. DJ Kenny Kingston will spin tunes and drink specials include $3 PBR Tallboys, $4 vodka Redbull, and $4 Bacardi and mixer.

Whoomp (There It Is)

You know you have some awesome '90s dudes lying around somewhere. So bust out you're XXL "I'm Too Sexy" t-shirt, your favorite flannel, and your "Donna Martin Graduates" sign. Yes, the '90s return at this awesome dance party. Music will focus on the earlier years of the decade, with sets from DJ Tanner, Dr. Dallas Dog-Palace, and MC Hang Time. Prizes go to the best dressed. 10 p.m.

Christopher Watson Dance Company: 9th Annual Dances at the Lakes Festival

One can never go too wrong with a free event. Walk over to the pavilion early for some ice cream and views of the Lake. Then head over to the Rose Garden for a free dance performance. For this year's show the Christopher Watson Dance Company will be collaborating with Kinetic Kitchen, Ray Terrill Dance Group, and Youth Dance Ensemble. Free. 7:30 p.m. Also Saturday.

24-hour BioBlitz
(UMore Park Administration Building, 1605 160th St. W., Rosemount)

Come spend some time with scientists, naturalists, and community members at this biology-themed event. Participants will be counting bats, birds, flowers, fish, and just about everything else that's alive. Check the website for the type of species you'd like to count, and sign up. Summertime means Shakespeare in the park. The Cromulent Shakespeare Company will present this tale, set during the Trojan War, filled with bawdy humor, tragic woe, and the destruction of lovers Troilus and Cressida. 7 p.m., 2 p.m. Sunday.
