Art Perchance
Say goodbye to those cheesy, scruffy carnival game prizes. Tomorrow night you'll have a chance at winning a piece of one-of-a-kind art by playing museum-inspired midway-style games at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.

Art Perchance, an annual fundraiser put on by the Friends of the Institute, offers a glammed-up carnival evening right inside the museum among their admired works of art.

Like most Third Thursdays at the museum, the Art Perchance, including the games, are free. There will also be music from local band the Alarmists, and outdoor entertainment in the Target Park. Prizes for game winners include donated paintings, sculptures, and jewelry from local artists and galleries around Twin Cities and beyond.

If you lack confidence in your gaming skills, VIP contributor tickets at varying prices are available and feature valet parking, an invitation to the artist reception at the start of the evening, and tickets for art drawings. The prices don't come cheap, but giving to charity and increasing your chances at winning unique artwork might just be priceless. With 85 donating artists, you may recognize works by local talent Miles Mendenhall from Bravo TV's latest reality show Work of Art.

The annual charity bash helps the Friends of the Institute support the museum by providing free lectures, buses for school field trips to the museum, education programs, and artwork for the museum's permanent collection.

The benefit party takes places this Thursday night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the M.I.A. (2400 Third Ave. S.; Minneapolis). To purchase VIP tickets, click here.
