This weekend was freaking hot. And we're  not just talking about the weather. While the Minnesota State Fair raged on, locals elsewhere kept it cool at several hot parties throughout the city.

Friday night marked the final Bomp! at the Bedlam Theater, which closes later this week. Patrons partied late into the night at the raucous monthly dance party. DJ Jimmy2Times flew in from New York City to give Bomp! and the Bedlam a proper farewell. Check out slideshow over at Bomp! says goodbye at the Bedlam.

On Saturday, Grumpy's celebrated Amphetamine Reptile Records 25th birthday with an epic, daylong, sold-out shindig. The event featured rock 'n' roll performances from the Melvins, Gay Witch Abortion, Vaz, White Drugs, Thrown Ups, Nashville's Today is the Day, among others. The crowd was rowdy and enthusiastic, and filled with Surly Beer. You can check out pics over at the Amphetamine Reptile Records' 25th Anniversary Bash at Grumpy's slideshow.

Sunday night lovers of house music and those looking to beat the heat took to the rooftop of Solera for a cool dance party. DJs included Justin Baule, Strangelove, Dustin Zahn, and Centrific DJ. Some sipped drinks, others worked up a sweat showing off their moves. You can check out the slideshow over at Solera rooftop party: House lovers beat the heat.
