Wants vs. Needs, mnartists.org Field Day: Slideshows from the weekend

​The weather this weekend was sweltering. While many of us crashed at the lake or sat in front of a fan with a cold brew, others more ambitiously ventured around town in search of something cooler than mere air conditioning.

The weekend started a little early over at the Walker Art Center. Last Thursday the artsy folks over at mnartists.org hosted their second Field Day Celebration on the open lawn. Though some

​scheduled events were kid-friendly, the day was more focused on bringing out the kid in creative adults who enjoyed games on the lawn, drawing workshops, an artists' mart, and a night-time sing-along. Friday night at Wants vs. Needs the party was all about the patio. A DJ dance night held the first Friday of every month at Club Jager, Petey, Espada, Anton, and So Gold kept crowds dancing inside while smokers and drinkers cooled cooled off together outside. Not only was the cover free, but guests were treated to freebie t-shirts designed by Adam Garcia.
