Music and movie memorabilia sale at State Fair grounds
The Minnesota State Fair may be over, but there are still opportunities to visit the fairgrounds. So if Princess Kay of the Milky Way isn't your idea of a celebrity and seed art isn't desirable memorabilia to you, then perhaps the Classic Movie and Music Memorabilia show and sale may be more your style.
Minneapolis-based Cat's Pajamas Productions has organized the event, which will be taking over the fair's Fine Arts Center this Friday and Saturday. It promises to have more vintage movie and music memorabilia on display than you can shake a hotdog on a stick at.
Over 30 vendors will be setting up shop, peddling everything from movie and rock posters, to vintage vinyl, to classic movies on DVD, to antique radios, to phonographs. There will also be autographed movie star photos, Broadway memorabilia, musical instruments, sheet music, vintage concert tees, and movie props. Throw in a room for Elvis and Sinatra memorabilia as well.
While there probably won't be a butter sculpture bust of Star Child from KISS, there will be plenty of pleasant distractions, including ongoing classic movie screenings and a celebrity look-a-like contest. Friday evening has a cocktail bar too.
